  1. if I correctly understand you use a "DNA" signature for the global weather pattern on a day you can find a historic match and if the match is strong enough you have confidence they will follow each other closely for about 5 weeks. Does matching dna values for days following your prediction (where possible) of this great storm still point to the same outcome? If you tried to find a DNA match for conditions right now does it point to a similar forecast, or are strong DNA matches like that which you based your prediction on so rare you dont expect to have another between prediction and verification date. you say you are 100% condient this will happen -yes?

  2. Good old Tony Robinson! I grew up on time team and have huge respect for the guy. Just watching a program right now on channel 4 (available on their website also i think) called "Man on Earth" about the demise of the mayans and pueblo indians of mesa verde due to drought and the norse in greenland due to little ice age. Definately not sending a good message to those who insist man is to blame for everything. I'm confident i know Tony's stance on the topic of man made climate change after watching this. Quite brave programming imo: aren't we meant to forget about historic natural climate change?

  3. well i do feel a little silly that i was expecting everything to be burried like feb 09, mainly because i brought it up in every conversation today! Sounds like a non event for whole of london proper, certainly in my neck of the woods. Meto had code red for london, god bless 'em - they've taken it away now though. Pretty certain everything will be very wet and grey in the morning - better luck next time eh!

  4. all the global warmlings, not exclusively however, should be very worried by the current state of our sun. Ironicly they act so concerned about a warming planet but will staunchly deny prospects of a cool down - according to them wouldnt this be good news? Sadly not, widespread crop failures and food shortages will follow.

If the sun enters a repeat of the maunder minimum we will in all likelyhood enter another mini ice age and this winter is just a sign of things to come. We should all be watching the sun very closely for clues for next winter...

  5. Those futher to the south and east, your not out of the woods yet. Im pretty confident you'll see some snow later in the night. All of the energy is more to the SW at the minute, but it'll start to pep up along the front towards the east once the colder air comes down and start envigorating the front. Currently 0'c -1'c dewpoint and snowing lightly here. If you look at the wind map you can see my area is experiencing northerly winds which will gradually drag the colder air southwards. Be patient and give it time. It was never forcast to fall as snow in the SE to start with, but turn to snow later in the night towards dawn!

oh man that is such a tease. seriously tho - i knew i was a pretty sad individual a week ago, but what have i become? I'm constantly refreshing a weather forum and peeking out the window. its starting to become ridiculous. I need counseling for snow obsession because im quickly forgetting how to enjoy anything else!

  6. Hi all, just registered!..

I wanted to ask if this band of precipitation is unexpected (was meant to go further west)?.. meto have changed their weather warning for london in the past hour - they must be hoping any snow is melted by rain by the morning before anyone notices. What do you think the chances are for north london to hold onto some snow

extremely small speckles of snow right now...
