3 inches or so.....stopped now, localised though, hardly any snow around Bham.
-
Light wet snow here....
-
It's very marginal at the moment here I think....but we have done well in the past in these events.....northern parts of staffs n stoke look to get battered!
Forecast daytime maximums of -1 on sat n Sunday!!!
-
Nov 96 was a good one!
-
Midlands today weather was ramping as usual.....north of brum staying as snow till Saturday and staff moorlands etc to get a dumping....
Will check models tomorrow for an update, quite finely balanced at the moment but certainly potential
-
Absolutely bitter up here in sedgley, the gusts with the windchill are biting....had a few snow showers. Some more organised snowfall would top it off now...coldest feel of the winter n it's mid march!!!
-
Not much snow but coldest I've known it in march for quite some time!!! Below zero all day...and bitter in the wind.
-
Light snow in Bham now. Not expecting much here, maybe abit more at my home location but think its further north which will see any noticeable snowfall tbh
-
seems quite a local event, drove from mine to wombourne and hardly any snow like 5 miles away, it was like sleet in the air and hardly and drips off roofs, then drove back just and a good 5cms or so and still going slightly - roads are not the best either. Dosent look too good for the next few hours on the current radars, however models suggest another bang of heavier falls during the night so will have to wait and see.......

Mozza, you have exact same elevation as me in Sedgley and you posted about Beacon Hill earlier, I reckon you must live on my doorstep! I'm just off Bath Street..
I live in Vale street mate upper Gornal (back of the BP garage on the main road from dudley to sedgley), I was up Beacon hill earlier as id been to my parents house in Sedgley and decided to pop up the beacon for a quick look.
Happy snow watching......im off out for some food and a game of pool in a bit, hopefully I wont get stuck on the way home haha!
-
a covering now in sedgley and gornal.....but drove to tipton and bilston and its not stuck at all due to lower reliet but only a matter of time I would say.
-
Snowing on sedgley beacon so it's definitely changing, must be 270m asl roughly up here.
-
Sleetyness in sedgley.
-
just a gut fieling but for some reason today kind of reminding me of dec 7th-8th 90 it raind all day and the rest is as we all know what happend, although cinopticly this today is a totaly different setup but u never know.
Yes great snowfall this and I remember being at primary school and it rained all day on the Friday and then weather forecast on the night said an inch overnight in the black country possibly, it turned about to be about 12 times that! Was only 9 then but was that a greenland high setup?
It seemed to be fairly localised too. The John Motson interview was pretty funny that day. Definitely stands out in the top 3-4 snowfalls in my lifetime.
-
Hummm upper air temps too high it seems around here, not even high ground can sort that.
To be honest hope all the snow gets washed away quickly with the rain as there is quite alot here still!
Hopefully we get another one of these situations banked before the winters out.
-
It's coming at the right time of day, thinking it should be mostly snow here then temps will drop so hopefully no thaw before morning!
-
0c n no snow yet....
-
these events in the past have brought the biggest snowfalls, however on this occasion it looks pretty marginal from the off.
See what happens.
March 95 was an epic snowfall due to this - 8 inches in 3 hours!
-
It would be good if it all falls as snow n then slowly thaws over the weekend! It's the dreaded rain that will be the party pooper! Snowing here again, 25cms at least in my back garden lol! Pretty impressive really.
-
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaddddddddddddddddddddddfoooooooooooooorrrrddddddddddd!!
Villa fans see you at the molineux next season haha!
-
Didnt expect anything tonight but since last night, there has been alot of change snow wise!!!
What a wicked cold snap so far.........
-
looking good foe snow tonight/tomorrow for west midlands on the latest NAE
Its out on its own though..............no update on forecast maps yet.
-
Never known a period of winter weather so unpredictable, every day or changes 2-3 times.
It does look less and less likely for a weekend snowy breakdown, as its looks like getting milder even before ppn starts.
-
hopefully someone will throw us a wild card tomorrow but looking unlikely at the moment.
