  1. Can't believe there are no recent posts in here with the storm that hit Scotland last week and the two that are forecast for this week. If they materialise or not, they make interesting thread reading and chart following. My camera will be on standby :-))
  2. Great thread Jane Louise. I also get a little excited at the prospect of a storm. If it was always calm and beautiful we would never appriciate it. Of course I don't want anybody to get hurt and thanks to sites like this, people can take precautions to ensure they have done all they can to protect thier property and themselves. Unfortunately, sometimes, morther nature shows she is no match for our precautions. As long as people heed the warnings and don't do anything that could put them in danger, there is nothing more we can do. Stay safe and enjoy such rareaties when they come our way, for we are no match for mother nature.
  3. Thanks for the bump up Jane :-) Still none the wiser though :-( Could you reccomend a thread to re-post in please? Don't know how to copy and paste on my new phone, so I will have to type it all again :-0 It seems to be getting a little off topic in here lol :-D
  4. Evening all :-) Could anyone with better knowledge of the weather charts than myself, be so kind and give me a rough idea of what tomorrows & thurs/fri storms could mean for S.Wales please? I only have access to net via my phone :-( I have been following the thread, but obviously people mostly post about thier locations & I'm all confuddled lol. I would just like to give my family & friends the heads up, as most people take no notice of the media hype as it seldom plays out that way. I find the weather very interesting, providing everyone is safe. In the summer a mini tornado passed right through my area (Crumlin/Newbridge) and caused alot of damage in seconds :-( It was very scary. The rugby stands in a field a few hundred yards away blew over the train tracks and down the street. A lampost got blown onto a nieghbours front door and part of the grandstand was up against her back door. Her & her baby couldnt get out :-( There were trees and branches strewn everywhere for a mile or so and another nieghbour had his kitchen roof ripped off. Fortuneately nobody was hurt :-) Apart from the huge pain they felt in thier heads as it passed over. The noise was unbelievable and undiscribeable. I believe forewarned is forearmed. Sorry for the long post, but hopefully you now understand why this is important to me. Keep up the good work everyone and stay safe x
  5. On a serious note, I'm glad I'm down in S.Wales. Everyone in the thick of it today, stay safe
  6. I can't drive, but if you get a lift, could you pick me up on the way please? Haha
  7. Oh my, u r excited lol. Enjoy :-) Oh yes, todaya haha CNN talking about wind speeds and possible airport closures/delays
  8. Wow, even making breaking news on bbc 2 just now :-0
  9. Yes, I read the one bird leading them all to their death theory More Dead Birds Found In Kentucky AND La. Identical To Birds in Arkansas - Media Downplays Find http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajIXYofBhGk Many different reports making it difficult to gather all the actual facts. However, I do think it's a bit odd, especially with these new reports elsewhere. Hmmmm I'd be keeping my children in too
  10. Ahhh, I was just going to start a topic about this some pretty freaky things happening recently:- the birds, frogs, fish, snow for the uk nov/dec and to top it all off, a 3.6 earthquake/tremor near Leeds :o For the "doomsday" people these are all sure signs of the end A number of weather related theories However, we all know no matter how much evidence there is to support such theories, it will probably all be down to global warming climate change http://www.thestar.c...ks?bn=1#article
  11. Guess I am still a member this year too :*-(
  12. What a wash out. just went to the shop and it was still chucking it down. Seen severel garden walls crumbling and collapsed on the way down All this rain is not good, unless there's thunder of course lol
  13. Heavy downpour, now the sun is out. We shall be breeding some beauties for you easteners today I think. Why are people giving up so early? We haven't had a storm since 19 o dot, but I stil like hearing everyone elses posts of their events. Enjoy who ever gets lucky today.....(in the storm sense I meant) tut tut lol
  14. Yet again, plenty of rain this morning. Thankfully it has eased off with just a few quick showers now and again. Must say it's very windy here today and that hasn't eased up all day.
  15. Ok, this constant rain is doing my nut in. Do I have to wait untill nextyear for a chance at my ticket out of this NSC? No offense, I <3 you all, but I'm so in need of storm fix If Jane Louise gets her storm can we have a leaving party for her bess
  16. Wher was this taken and where? Pretty damn amazing Edit: My bad, I see the date is there on the video plain for all to see
  17. There's only 1 storm that has stuck in my mind, but I'm not sure what year. I was very young, but I can remember sitting up all night with my mam watching, no eletric and lightning hit the big oak tree in front of our house. Was a scary storm that lasted most of the night. It would have been in the 80's, probably mid to late 80's. Like I said I was very young at the time, I was born in 81.
  18. And it's stiol raining here. eased up for about 5 minutes earlier and is now back with avengence. So glad I live up a hill lol
  19. Do we still have newest posts button? if so, where is it? If not I want it back lol. I am also getting annoyed with the way the smilies window opens when writing a reply. I tried to click on 1 earlier and it took me to a new page through what was behind the smilies. I'm not saying I don't like the new and updated version because I'm just finding my way, but it could just do with a few tweeks. Did I mention I miss the newest posts button??? lol
  20. Still raining heavily since it woke me at 4am. Gawd knows how much has fallen, but there's certainly going to be some flooding today.
  21. OMG Where has all this rain come from? It hasn't eased since it woke me at 4am. Pretty heavy rain too.
  22. Make that Wales too. The rain has woken me up @ 4a.m As for the storms on Friday.......SE again.....Blah Blah lol. When is it the W's turn?

  24. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/north_east/8155258.stm Fire crews sent to flooded homes Emergency services are tackling isolated flooding of homes in west Wales following heavy rain. Properties in the Gower and Llanelli have been hit, while Mid and West Wales fire service has also received calls from Gorseinon and Pontarddulais. One house in Caswell, Gower, is said to be extensively flooded with water up to 1m (3.3ft) deep. Two fire engines have been at the scene since 0530 BST. Other incidents have been reported in Penclawdd and Reynoldston. Two properties at Glyncoed Terrace, Dafen near Llanelli, are also said to have been flooded. A golf event at Newport Links Golf Club in Pembrokeshire has been postponed because of water on the course. There are also problems on the roads, with the A483 Pen-y-Banc Road closed in both directions at Ammanford due to flooding between Bishop Road and Parklands Road after a river burst its banks. Police are directing traffic but motorists are advised to approach with care. The A475 near Newcastle Emlyn is partially blocked but passable, while the A484 in Carmarthenshire is also partially blocked due to a fallen tree between B4333 (Cynwyl Elfed) and Cwmduad. A landslip is said to have closed the B4593 Caswell Road at Bishopston, Gower. Other problems have been reported on the B4302 at Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, the B4308 Heol Llanelli at Trimsaran near Llanelli, the B4320 at Hundleton in Pembrokeshire, and Neuadd Road and Nant Gwineu Road in Garnant, Neath Port Talbot.
