After reading peoples descriptions of what they observed and looking up the criteria for a supercell, a good place to start is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercell the Kent Storm certainly fits the criteria to my mind.
As a note most people and websites on supercells say that the Supercell Thunderstorm was first described in 1962 by a meteorlogical student in Wokingham England

storm chase yesterday once storms where close enough set off from Bicester to Brill not quite right as unable to get good visual off storms so set off for some higher ground further southeast to some higher ground looking south to the chilterns excellant view of storms from road but unabale to pull over an get camera set due to too many others out storm watching taking up every suitable field gate and track entrances etc with there cars an camper vans never seen so many out storm watching buy the time I found someware suitable to pull over (a vacated spot) the very active storm front had passed waited a couple of hours but nothing took the same track well disapionted as I was waitng with my new LIghtning Trigger that I had imported from US to get my first daylight lightning photos missed last weeks due to having to go to work at crucial so you can imagine my frustration.
My son & his mate tried Stokenchurch area up on the Chilterns to video some storms the claim to have seen that most elusive devil Ball Lightning but were unable to get video cam out of bag in time before it faded away.

interesting drive to work in Oxfordshire at 05:30 this morning checked my weather station before I left it showed no wind on my journey there was patchy mist at tree top hight clearer underneath but almost thick enough to obscure the treetops by 06:15 wind was blowing quite hard and was dispersing the mist into low cloud.

Cheers Paul!
Assuming I have read it right lol , there is one flight leaving Heathrow on Tues 27th April at 11:40am, arriving at DFW at 15:40 (£165) - then coming back, departing on Fri 8th May from DFW at 17:35 and arriving 08:40am (£180) - total £345. It appears that this is the only BA flight on Tues 27th April! So I am thinking it is worth booking up earlier rather than later....would that be advised?
Cheers in advance.
Harry 8th may 2010 is a saturday
checked flight prices heathrow/ dallas fw. AA. depart LHR 10:25 arrive DFW 14:25
Dallas FW/heathrow depart DFW16:45 arrive LHR 07:50 or = £438.10p
depart DFW 19:40 arrive LHR 10:45
or with BA depart LHR 11:40 arrive DFW 15:40
depart DFW 17:35 arrive LHR 08:40 = £344.10p

latest met office
UK Outlook for Monday 13 Jul 2009 to Wednesday 22 Jul 2009:
From Monday to Friday, the weather is expected to be dominated by an area of low pressure drifting slowly eastwards across northern Britain. This will bring an unsettled mix of sunshine and showers across much of the United Kingdom, albeit with a fairly gentle wind for much of the time. Although hit-and-miss, the showers will generally be on the heavy side, especially inland during the day, when localised thundery downpours are likely. Feeling pleasantly warm when the sun's out, with temperatures around average for the time of year. Looking ahead to the weekend and the start of the following week, the bright but showery theme is set to continue, with a significant settling down of the weather thought to be unlikely at this stage.
