  1. Yes, just checked my Lightroom catalog and that was a good night. I think the night I remember was 23rd June 2021, that was a high display and was probably the best in the last few years for me. Actually the most ridiculous hobby I could have bought into
  2. 2020 maybe the year I am remembering.
  3. I've found it about the same as last year, and both years can be summed up as lame. A few years ago we had some excellent displays, one of which I distinctly remember at about 10:30pm, huge overhead display, which my wife doesn't forget either because I hung up the phone to her as it was happening (gotta go!) I'll prob be on the hunt for another week or so, depending on cloud cover of course.
  4. Perhaps not new to most of us in here…
  5. 06z WRF still suggestive of an environment that could support a decent storm later this afternoon, perhaps more so towards Essex, and Suffolk into Norfolk.
  6. Some nice images were appearing on the Glendale App which kept me going until about 3am. Ultimately it wasn't worth the five hour shift for what did show up; way too faint for my high expectations Just hope that wasn't the final display for the year.
  7. When your 00z WRF produces an updraft helicity track over the top of your house I remain unconvinced until I see it with my own eyes.
  8. Very very faint. Not too sure they are going to get much brighter.
  9. Yep showing on camera now. Man that was a shift waiting for them tonight!
  10. Looks decent on the Flensburg webcam as well. Typical. Think I will hang around for a bit longer.
  11. Front row seats on the beach again. I’m ready for the show to begin
  12. I'll be out again too, can't waste a clear Friday night
  13. Made the trip out to the beach, nice and clear but nothing showing up yet…
  14. Couple of images I liked, first is from the evening display and second from the morning. Shame about some of the low level cloud, then again, it does give a bit of extra texture I guess.
  15. Fading away slowly but thats been the best display so far, for me anyway. Time for a Snickers and a nap and see if they return early morning.
  16. Confirmed bit of cloud in the way but looking decent!
  17. No chance over this way, still raining. Early night at least. Good luck to anybody with clear skies.
  18. A letterbox sized clearance has appeared to the North West. I’ll hang on for a bit
  19. Likewise. More high cloud encroaching too.
  20. Looking reasonably clear at the moment so I’m gonna take my chances and head out for a bit
  21. Are you sure you aren’t in the same spot as me My next best location is about 40 minutes away (but completely people free!), which wouldn’t be too bad if these clouds were not so elusive. The only time I’ve seen any police is when they were curious about what I was doing at 2am
  22. It's been a painfully slow start this year so I'll take any kind of sighting now. The early morning display wasn't that great for me, but I don't really remember seeing them in the North West skies on both the evening and morning shows before (more NE in the morning)? Maybe I'm just getting old and forgetting previous events. One shot from about 11:30ish Think I might have to find a new viewing spot too. My favoured location is getting contaminated with cars parked up all night with music, headlights and engines running. Old man rant, I know.
  23. Yea gone now, faint but visible to the naked eye.
