Forecasted clear skies from 22:00 - 04:00 over this way. Will be preparing the camera and snack bag later.

My 06z WRF run produces some interesting convection along the East coast (and further inland) in the next hour or two, wether its handled this mornings convection well is another matter, and it also didn't have a good handle on things on its 00z run...so buyer beware

I have a couple of questions about the radar subscription that @Paul might be best to help with. Are there any differences between the free version and the subscription, particulary with the zoom levels and how often your location can be updated? I noticed on Android and iOS that you cannot zoom in too far before the radar overlay is lost on the map, and also that my position can take a very long time to update - I can force quite the app and that will obviously update my position instantly, but isn't ideal. Just some questions I had today whilst trying to navigate around some storms rain

I believe the tweet might be referring to the ESSL testbed, Estofex is voluntary but a lot of the same people are involved with ESSL.

Hail fog is impressive. Best I've experienced is after a prolific hail producing supercell passed through a town in Kansas in 2022. Visibility down to a few hundred meters with a very noticeable drop in temperature too - had to put my jumper on, in Kansas, in June

Yep, 23:45. I can see it in 2 shots out of about 10 at the same time. Photographically, nothing to shout about, but its there for sure.

Indeed. I did also manage to capture a smidge of Aurora in one earlier image, which I didn't expect.

Between 23:00 and 00:00 would be great. The 02:30 showings are a bit disruptive to my nights sleep
