what rainfull totals could gloucestershire see ??
At the moment possibly around 40mm accumulation. See link below:

Wow. What an interesting night ahead for some people. It's really calm here, not a breath of wind. Theres plenty of rain to come for the South tonight. South Wales may miss the worse though.
Yeah looks as though most of Wales will get missed but SE Wales should get something - NAE is pointing to 20-30mm for SE Wales.
EDIT: Possibly upto 40mm for SE.

Wow. My parents are off to Cyprus in October. I have been there a few times before and I absolutely love it. You can always guarantee you'll get good weather but 46C is crazy.
-
I also like the one with the 'cold ball' giggling fit. Oh, and the one when he gets in a mood with the people in the gallery. He seems to have more bloopers than any other weather presenter.

Who is hosting it in Cardiff then? Count me in would love to see where Tourchwood is filmed. lol
Cardiff? Thats where I live. I wont host but will come along lol. I could give you all a guided tour - Torchwood, Dr Who, Gavin & Stacey and even Traffic Cops lol

NHC are giving a 30% chance of TD5 forming again as the remnant low moves back over the Gulf on Monday.
-
Who are these Positive Weather Solution people anyway, I had never heard of them until last year and its seems as though the newspapers get these stupid stories from them constantly. Their website is terrible and they seem to just put these stories out there to get some attention. I agree with you all that the Met office will get the blame for it.
Havent the newspapers ever heard of NetWeather.tv

There has been a confirmed tornado in Stanford-Le-Hope in Essex. Im trying to get the pictures now.
Also, Funnel Cloud confirmed in Jersey.
Edit: Here is a link to UKWW where the pictures are:

94L is now Tropical Depression 5
-
Anybody have the recon observations for 94L?
Not sure if this helps:
-
NHC now giving a 30% chance of 94L becoming Tropical in the next 48 hours.

Latest IR image of Dianmu (in the correct thread this time lol)

Latest image of Dianmu:
Sorry, just noticed the seperate Dianmu thread.

Really nice, dramatic picture. My camera has a panormaic function but its not the best - a bit fiddly. I havent used this function on photoshop yet, I'll have a go.

All warnings and watches were discontinued earlier by the NHC.
-
Corrected
Thanks - was moving NNE earlier lol

It's no more than a little heavy drizzle here in South Wales.
Yeah, the large mass is now around about North Wales now. Radar is showing some more clumps of rain currently over SW England and moving NNE - should be here in a couple of hours but its not much and no lightning either
-
The IOW lightning strike detector? Its now showing one strike, in the North Sea off Scotland. Im not sure how much faith I place in the data from these detectors, but Im new to this and open to opinions, do they get the distance and direction wrong much?
I find they're not all the best. When you look at a couple of different detectors at the same time you will notice that they all differ on location. I find that either the NetWeather system or Blitzortung are fine though as these use multiple detectors. This is of course this is for another topic.

@andymusic it would be nice as I have had nothing this year but I don't think anything is likely to happen it's been a bit of a flop for me today.
-
Have now got the big mass of rain that has just reached South Wales, just rain atm no thunder.
-
Fantastic videos Pat, love seeing helicopters in slow motion.
-
Looking forward to the next 24hrs.
I'm looking forward to the next few days!! I think the charts are looking quite favourable at the moment for me and to be honest even if I just had a bit of thunder I would be happy as I havent even had that so far this year.
This is what the Met Office have for me:
"Tuesday:
Occasional rain in the morning, becoming heavy, persistent and perhaps thundery in south Wales by lunchtime. Heavier rain will then spread to many southern and eastern areas through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Remaining unsettled on all three days with sunshine and showers, the showers locally heavy with thunder at times. Becoming somewhat drier for Friday. Temperatures generally around normal."
Which is the most exciting forecast I've had so far. Also think there may be a slight tornado risk for The Midlands during Tuesday afternoon/evening and Wednesday.

Fantastic photos, would have really liked to be there.
Great to see the new A400M was there as I believe this must be only its third flight and is still undergoing testing.
Seems as though there were quite a few USAF aircraft at the show.

Thats very interesting mate, here in Swansea yesterday, we had a fairly heavy thunderstorm that passed and dropped 13.8mm in under 30 minutes.
Yeah I was looking at lightning strike data earlier and there seemed to be strikes recorded to the East and West of Cardiff but a gap over actual Cardiff. I think if a cell had passed over there would have atleast be some thunder in it but nothing passed over.
I got the strike data from UKASF:

You may have to toggle the lightning overlay on.
