Don't live too far away from the airport and I remember very few showers. There was an area of snow showers moving through in the first part of Tuesday morning then it was dry for the bulk of the day until evening when we had a snow shower. Wednesday was largely dry and the Thursday we had a few shoers in the morning.

I'm surprised at that given the Manchester Airport stats- perhaps a case of large variability over a small area or statistics not telling the whole story? It's true that Manchester Airport didn't pick up much in the way of precipitation.

I remember watching the 20th April 1995 forecast and the comments on "again less showers than on the day before", though again regional variation comes into play- in Tyneside the 20th was the day with the heaviest and most frequent showers, with fewer showers about on the 19th. We did catch a few on the 21st too if I remember correctly, though they were only of rain.

However Tyneside certainly wasn't a good place to be during the month's following episode (22nd-26th) as the easterly winds brought a lot of "haar" in off the North Sea.
