Very unsettled with showers, some torrential, especially this morning, and we have another heavy band now, hail thrown in too

Mainly dry this afternoon until recently, with a thunderstorm with some hail and torrential rain for a time.

An interesting day so far. Bucketing down here in the early morning. Collected 23.9mm from the gauge at 10BST, for previous 24hrs. Floods on roads and on lower ground along rivers. Showers this morniing then progressively settled down. Good sunny spells and quite warm. No need for a coat. Max 15.2C. Then late afternoon, about 4.40, a half hour deluge with thunder came suddenly. Heard thunder first over the fells just north of here. Clouds moved fast west --east approx. Strong cold wind behind the clearance. Temp did drop to 11.9C in the rain, bur picked up now to 13.3C. Still lots of big clouds about upwind, though sky looks well washed and visibility good. Wind weered a touch now, more WNW.

I got caught in that heavy shower now with thunder and lightning, i feel sorry for all the people thats gone to the Ffos Las races. A t the back edge of it now and brightning up to the west with sun shining over the water. Been windy all day today feeling quite cool aswell.
