I fly with Flybe. They sent me a nice email:

'Lifeline shuttle service' to operate between Scotland & Northern Ireland

DATE OF TRAVEL: Friday 16th April 2010

Following the flight disruptions in the past 36 hours that have been caused by a large volcanic eruption in Iceland, Flybe is moving quickly to develop a ‘rescue’ plan to provide a ‘lifeline shuttle service’ between Scotland and Northern Ireland. As soon as we receive confirmation from National Air Traffic Services that Scottish airspace is declared open, flight services will begin to operate between Glasgow and Belfast City from 7pm this evening.

Flybe has put these plans in place to ensure that we can accommodate as many stranded passengers as possible between the two countries during this difficult time with plans to operate the flights listed below later today on as many as seven aircraft (dependent on demand).

Belfast City to Glasgow dep 19:00 arr 19:45

Belfast City to Glasgow dep 20:15 arr 21:00

Glasgow to Belfast City dep 19:00 arr 19:45

Glasgow to Belfast City dep 19:55 arr 20:40

These additional flight services can be used to re-accommodate those passengers that haven't been able to fly over the past 36 hours. Equally, if you don't currently hold a booking with Flybe and need to travel between Scotland and Northern Ireland, we are here to help and we will try and fly as many people as we can.

Latest GFS in FI land suggests the problem may last until next Thursday. This all presumes the Volcano keeps pumping up the ash cloud and that the GFS is correct.

James also getting to 35,000ft would mean going through the ash cloud.

Just seen the ash plume through the clouds on one of the camera's.

Good time to watch right now http://eldgos.mila.is/eyjafjallajokull-fra-valahnjuk/ Huge plume going up.

No Ryanair flights until at least 1300 BST Monday now.

In that case unless the volcano stops spewing out ash, you can pretty much rule out any flights till Thursday-Friday from Ryanair because conditions aloft will direct the ash plume directly towards the UK from Monday-Thursday, esp Ireland, Wales and S.England.
