also to recieve the most reliable readings where would be the best position to place the anemometer and the temperature guage?

Temperature gauge, ideally 1.25m above the ground and out in the open, away from walls. Also have it placed away from direct sunlight, this will send the temp readings sky high.

Anemometer needs to be up high and away from obstructions, such as on a chimney or tall pole.
