Damn what a day. Lovely funnel to start the day then moved due to marble size hail then we got closer to the core. One point the funnel was right above us. We then headed to s town called Canadian n that's where saw the tornado on the ground. Was beutiful. Never seen a tornado like it. We then parked up the hills n witnessed few more tornado

Started the Day in Childress with a target of Canadian (Texas) and got on the storm as it was developing, got under the rain free base and witnessed a lovely cone funnel dancing up and down NW Of Canadian. Started to take sporadic large hail but sat it out, it became clear this Classic Cyclic Supercell was riding the Outflow Boundary and was going to be our main show for hours to come. After a bit of repositioning North of Canadian a huge Stovepipe Tornado hit the ground for about 10 minutes. After this another few tornadoes touched down and once a cell merger took place the storm gusted out. Headed to Amarillo for celebratory steak for dinner at the only place in town namely the Big Texan!

Great day for Tour 2 and more of the same for today!

That tornado above touched down around 11pm - but the tornado sirens had sounded almost 1 and a half hours earlier in Canadian. Do people stay in their shelters all that time - or did the sirens go off repeatedly?

They would still be there chewing them, Ian.

I'd heard them going in Canadian twice, once at about 2130, and once about an hour later..
