A  dry but foggy start to last night. The fog thinned to mist shortly before midnight and there was a short spell of snow from around 0100 to 0130. Heavy snow for a time during the early hours gave another 2cm of fresh snow but it had turned to sleet by 0430 and gave way to moderate-heavy drizzle before dawn.
