Variable cloud overnight. Turning clear towards dawn and a sunny start, cloud quickly bubbled up to become mostly cloudy by 08:30 BST. Showers in the area. Bright spells through the morning and in to the afternoon. By mid afternoon light rain set in, this becoming moderate towards early evening.

Broken cloud and clear intervals during the first half of yesterday evening but thickening cloud after 2100 g.m.t brought periods of rain, heavy at times, from 2330 g.m.t onward. Hill fog and heavy drizzle this morning but in the last few minutes the drizzle has stopped, the  cloud has broken and the sun is out.

Overcast, cool and windy with persistent rain. Another surprise was the min pressure of 983.0hPa appears to be the lowest I've ever recorded in August.
