Partial lunar eclipse: 28th October 2023

There will be a small partial lunar eclipse visible from the British Isles on the evening of the 28th October 2023

The penumbral phase begins at 19.01 BST

The partial phase begins at 20.35 BST

Maximum eclipse is at 21.14 BST

The partial phase ends at 21.52 BST

The penumbral phase ends at 23.26 BST

 

The south polar region of the Full moon will be in semi darkness at maximum.

A shame that for the next 3 years the Eclipse sequences aren't favourable for the UK other than Partial/Penumbral Lunar Eclipses but my eyes are set on the August 12, 2026 Solar Eclipse that will be on-par with the 2015 Faeroes Solar Eclipse which brought 95 - 89 % Partiality across the UK, with Iceland and Spain being the places to be for full Totality.
