MON: Fizzling Out...

ECML-Route-Weather Watch

Welcome to my Blog, bringing you my weather observations through North East Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and into the City of York during my daily commute from Melton Mowbray, by car and train.

Monday 14th January 2008:

Fizzling Out...

A damp start to the day in Melton Mowbray this morning. The rain was quite heavy as I drove through the town. Although it began to fizzle out during the drive along the A607 to Grantham. In the east there was broken cloud just letting the light of dawn break through. Conditions along the route of the train this morning was much of the same with light drizzle mixed with some heavier bursts. Cloud cover was thick with a hint of something clearer in the east. Temps quite mild with a light breeze.

The flood plains between Doncaster and York were pretty much underwater, with the River Wharfe at Ryther still high.

Tomorrow; Heavy rain is on the way, but will the band move through before, during or after my commute?
