Gotta say, the 18z UKV has nailed the development in the eastern channel we're seeing right now.

ChannelThunder I'm torn! I've got a busy day tomorrow but I don't want to miss this event. What are you thinking is most likely to reach us? THe lower clusters under Le Harve or the other main part? I'm unsure now haha

Flash just lit up the sky. You can say what you want about these but they are putting on a show still.

After a 3hr drive I'm finally parked up near Bicester just as the first of the evenings cells begin to cross the channel. Compared to up north it definitely feels more humid and thundery in the air. Fingers crossed for the next few hours.

Very potent storm developed in the channel, as predicted it is travelling NWW so I think the isle of wight will be in the firing line of that me thinks.

Thunderspotter I'm not an expert as such so please don't take this as gospel, but we can definitely disregard the Le Harve stuff.

These ones are the most likely to reach our area, going by radar, UKV & steering flow

ChannelThunder I'm niether an expert, but yeah I did see that the UKV was practically spot-on with the current channel development.

Now I'm faced with a choice and I think I might just stay up. It'll be worth it.

 Thunders

High Iso and high evaluation. Not great for good photos but too far away for them anyway.

This is how incredibly frequent it is.
