End of the hot weather here in East Kent now I think, tipping down and we have a few flashes of lightning and some Thunder with it, we need it though, it's been dry for a long time!
-
I've been enjoying the sun recently but things are getting very dry and desperate out there in the garden.
-
Nothing in my garden as the bulbs I planted early last year were of the summer variety, so a few months for those to poke through yet. Saw a few dafodils/snowdrops poking through at Bushy Ruff near Dover.
-
Light snow in Dover at the moment... don't expect it to last long... it started as sleety drizzly stuff.
-
big thaw setting in here...
my snow woman is thawing, she lost her pasta hair over night but I managed to stick it back on lol
-
Tomorrow afternoon and the weekend possibly looking good for some more snow in East Kent?
More is good

Eeww, how come she has a winkle for a nose? (is winkle a rude word? i dont think so...)
Strangely attractive though, i think i may have a snow fetish.
it's a carrot, but sadly they were going a bit rotten lol.
cannot wait to see peoples faces tomorrow... she's in full view of the street.

Doesn't seem to look like many showers will reach Kent tonight. not at the moment anyway... looks like the wash is getting some though.

Yep! Folkestone was closed today! 75% of the shops didn't even open!

There's money to be had! ;o)
I always used to imagine that phrase meant that you literally could not open the doors because of all the snow piled up outside, rather than just unable to get the get the car out of the garage or find it under the piles of white stuff.
Today it actually happened. I could not get the back door open because there was too much snow piled against it.
Luckily an enterprising young man rang the bell and offered to clear the front steps and our bit of the sidewalk for $30.
After he'd done that we could get round to the back and dig ourselves out from the outside.
Just in time to see someone actually skiing past.
Are you in Folkestone or the US? You've confused me there lol!
Oh I see that's an excerpt lol
30 bucks to have someone clear my bit of pathway... I'd tell the enterprising lad to off!

That bit of cloud in the north sea does look promising for some IMO...
problem here, we're almost out of milk... not one single store has any left either
-
lol, I must admit, he's only about 3 foot tall. still I love it, Wanted my sister and aunty to make one with 'woman features' but they said no
-
not built by me, my sister and aunty spent a couple of hours making it... even minor details lol...

Erm.... salt is what they normally spread. Salty water has a lower freezing point than fresh. The rock salt sometime has a little grit in it normally straight out of the ground.
I said salt, but they are called gritters :o
I did put 'to salt' rather than 'no salt' by mistake
-
I lol'd, truck has been wheel spinning outside my house for about 15 minutes, he just got it to move... roads aren't clear, gritter went around its normal route earlier this morning but seemed to be spreading to salt.
The truck was funny though, had it on full revs, I think it's ripped up the road surface a little, hard to tell lol

Snowing again in Dover. Wasn't worth me clearing the snow off the front path as it's being covered again

Absolutely crazy thunder snow here in Dover, Everything is covered thick and it's now drifting... looks like we've got our 6" and it's still snowing!
Thunder woke me up from my beauty sleep lol.Never heard so much thunder with snow to be honest.
-
Eagerly awaiting more snow here in Dover, it's been quiet for a while... looks like maybe soon it will pep up again.
-
Apparently Whitfield nr Dover has become a complete standstill... not surprising. Buses not going anywhere due to the sheer amount of slow moving traffic. My step dad said it took 25 minuted for the bus he was on to go a few hundred yards.
-
yup, aslthough, one minute it's coming down thick and fast, next it's just a flurry. it's about 3" ontop of the shed now.
Nice sunset pic!
