Looks to me like the chance of snow in the SE is slowly slipping away for next week ? any takers ?

Yep temps dropping rapidly in Ramsgate too ... currently +00.2c dropped 2 degrees in an hour ;o)

Ive finally come to the conclusion that the Metoffice.gov web site is a total waste of time and too unreliable ...
They really dont forcast warnings until the severe weather is pretty much on your doorstep ... then all I need to do is look out the window for a forcast.
No wonder councils dont get grit or salt on the roads in time if they rely on the UK Metoffice, they should start using NetWeather.tv for there forcasts as you guys on the forums, all forcasting threads here get it spot on a good 5 - 7 days in advance

Another big shower moving through Canterbury. No chance of getting to Manston today.
Dont even attempt it ... its a losing battle
A series of heavy snow showers, each shower lasting 15 - 20 mins, a gap of 5 mins followed by the next heavy snow shower ...
-
Well we had a lot of snow in Ramsgate overnight and into this morning ... I had to turn around and come back home to Ramsgate as I could'nt make it to work at Manston ( normal 5 min drive ) as there were jack knifed lorries, shunts and snow blowing off the feilds making viz worse than fog !!!
It took 55 minuites to get to the outskirts of Mantson villiage where I stayed in a long traffic jam for another 30 minuites before making the desicion to turn back.
In all I saw 8 car shunts and 2 stranded lorries with word of another 3 lorries jack knifed along the main airport road which is what apparently caused the traffic to stop dead and not move. Even the back way around the airport along the Canterbury road and the A299 thanet way were closed due to incidents so there was no alternative ...
I dont think the council have touch any roads with grit or salt as even A roads are snowed in with 6 inches or more in drifts
Anyway, another heavy shower passing through now filling in my footprints and tyre tracks from earlier with the temp at +1.1c.
Loads of emergency vehicle sirens but cant see them as the traffic has jammed up the roads, I feel sorry for anyone who need the emergency services today as they will and are struggling to get around .

Its been snowing on and off heavily all day in Ramsgate, as the day went on the snow got more frequent.
This morning the temps were too high for any settling but come later this afternon, about 15:00 the snow started to stick.
We have about 1.5" on even surfaces and drifts of 4" in places against walls etc.
Still snowing, although no quite as heavy at the moment but I think theres the main event due early hours tonight with a more prolonged spell of snow, then toppped off nicely with more showers in the morning
-
As the day progressed the rain turned to sleet, then to snow but by the time it snowed the ground was saturated and it wouldnt settle in Thanet. Yet further up the road in Hern Bay Faversham areas im told there was about 3 inches of white in places.
Current temp +1c with no precip at this time

Don't know about kidnapped, but last time I saw him on BBC SE he looked like he'd just escaped from an old people's home!
LMAO
-
Just went to put the bin out for the noisey buggers in the morning (06:00 collection, dont they realise some of us dont need to be up for work until 07:00) and its still a sleety mix of drizzly type percip out.
Nothing settling just a damp floor.
Temp now +3c
-
A really light snow shower in Ramsgate at the moment ... well proberly sleety but definatly a step in the right direction ... temp currently +3.4c

Well I awoke expecting to see a top up of snow only to be presented with 50% of my stash in the garden gone
The temp never dropped below 1.5c all nioght and topped out at +3
Gutted really but on the plus side I need to go out and about in the car today ...
-
Snow now becoming more frequent in Ramsgate and the temp has dropped 1.2 degrees in the last hour, currently sitting at +1.3c and dropping ...

Not much snow settling from the showers in Ramsgate last night ... although the showers were very much hit and miss with most either to the East or West moving in a South Westerly direction ...
The temp here is +1.6c and the snow we had a couple of days ago is very very slowly dissapearing ... heres to a top up later
-
Yep , might get thundersnow!

-
Lots of showers streaming in but most are missing the Thanet area like Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate, if only they would move slightly East

Hmmm, I doubt that very much
-
Carol K othe BBC stated more general snow for the South East later as the swirl in the North Sea cranks up and moves in
-
Matt Taylor on the BBC has just stated showers today for the South East although proberly hit and miss, more showers tomorow and that weather front pushing accross from Europe into the South East for Sunday ... " YAY "
