Seems to have calmed down here in Ayrshire, or is it just a lull?
I thought that too for a while but then a big gust comes along and spoils it

Looks like another low is developing I could be wrong
Will that dilute the power of the storm?

I've been watching that bunting since the day before yesterday. I'd become emotionally invested in it. It was my equivalent of Hector the Palm Tree. Even in the dark, because of the street lights, you could see the bunting flap around. This morning it began doing loop-de-loops as the sky cleared over it; one minute it was hanging limply, the next it was straight up in the air, then to the left, to the right. I even heard the"SNAP!" Now that's weird... just typed Stereo MC lyrics... and I saw them in Cork supporting U2 on the Zooropa tour.
Awww no.... Not the bunting :'-(

Ground winds are fairly light here in Ayrshire but Ive rarely ever seen the clouds move so fast.

Yup and here it's yellow and pouring with rain. Why is it yellow?
Yellow here in ayrshire too and slow vertical rain

As a bit of an aside, some of us skydived earlier today from 10K down through this streak of cloud coming up from biscay and stretching over the UK. It was one of the few jumps Ive ever done where I could feel air turbulence in freefall. Very strange.

Flocks of sparrows, tits and even a blackbird coming to check out the fuss, all arrived at my bird feeder which has been practically inactive for the past few weeks! Birds must be able to sense a storm long before we'd ever see it for our own eyes.
Theyre probably wondering why youre spending so much time at your computer

What kind of winds can we expect to get in the glasgow area from this storm? Im a tree surgeon and wondering if any trees will be uprooted if the winds are strong enough
AFAICT the glasgow area and ayrshire seems to be progged to experience a fairly normal autumn gale however there does seem to still be alot of leaves on the trees so you may be busy.

What a ridiculous thing to suggest. I am almost positive the UK has experienced wind storms of similar strength in the past without the entire country being 'brought down'.
People really love being drama queens, huh?
Im pretty sure my sanity would be brought to its knees by the english media by now were the above scenario to play out.

I think this will be worse then Debbie, as Debbie didn't develop into a major-hurricane when it approached even if Ophelia packs half the punch she possesses currently by the time she makes landfall on Ireland it's going to be a scary experience for those in the thick of it.
fair one

What time do the runs get released? I know they are at 00,06,12 etc but when does the data actually become available?
