Heaviest snow I've seen so far! So lovely to see, especially as (according to the BBC graphics this morning) I thought this was all going to slide to my south east

Finally fizzled out here. Can’t complain though, it’s snowed (in varying degrees) since about 7.30 yesterday morning! Can’t remember when, or even if, I’ve seen snow falling for so long

Dandruff snow all day, not really adding much. I’m under one of the darker echoes now and the road is covered again

Been snowing lightly here (Silver End, Essex) all morning. Settled on roofs, trees etc after about an hour. The intensity has just picked up and is now laying readily on paths and roads. Still teeny tiny flakes though!

Sonic Boom rattled windows just after 1pm here.
Apparantly it was an RAF Typhoon scrambled from RAF Conisby heading towards Northern France as a plane had briefly lost radio contact. All good now but it hit Mach 1 over the top of Essex.
I wondered what that was! All of our windows rattled here too

I've got a proper chilli bubbling, plenty of wine chilled and a decent torch for when my lamp post turns off. I'm just looking forward to seeing how it all pans out...... it's so exciting!!!!!

Very odd thing happening in my back garden right now, there are what looks like tiny little ice particles falling from a totally clear sky, it looks like someone is throwing around silver glitter!!!
Anyway, I was up super early this morning (was about -6 when I left home) and had a wonderful winter walk around our local footpaths, fabulous morning Did try to add a picture but the file size is too large
Good luck to everyone for snow later, sadly I don't think it will make it as far as me. Never mind, still plenty of winter left

Hate to jump on the bandwagon but... It's raining in Southend..
As Steve says, the transition should be soon and those further east (including hopefully me and Mr Sherman) should profit
..... and me (hopefully)
You're directly under me........ as the actress said to the bishop

But hopefully it shows people just how hard it is to predict wether its going to be Snow/Rain/Sleet/Pellets etc on an Atlantic Front. The good thing it shows is the Milder air around late afternoon which should hopefully stop all the crying posts saying "But its 5c It;s never gunna snow" And also shows the Colder Uppers undercutting into the front turning the rain to snow.
I just wanted to hilghlight the fact to people on how things could/should play out
I never said it was exciting.
I thought it was a brilliant post and a very informative video. Certainly cleared up a few questions for me

Still only a bit of snow here. Im the opposite of the crowded house song. If I was back in Essex, Cambridgeshire would be 2 feet deep minimum now guaranteed! A walking severe weather shield I am!
Everywhere you go........
