  1. Yeh, not seen lying snow for some time and came back from Sheffield to a pleasant surprise. I think there's a good chance of seeing a bit more end of next week (fate tempted!),
  2. Not terrible for me, an upgrade. Can IMBY comments go to the regional thread???
  3. A very pleasant light covering and thunder snow (never seen that before). Need it to pep up again. Great to hear it's making it right through to the East coast.
  4. keeps coming gently but just replaces the stuff that melted - come onnnnnnn
  5. Hurrah - starting to settle on most of the wet surfaces. Only just but it's started!
  6. snow shower but nothing sticking, just making everywhere wet
  7. Yes - anything from the East and North is great here for snow - north west always dubious. But fingers crossed. That said, having come from the Wirral 20 odd years ago all our winters are better than the ones there
  8. Finally excited for this run. We've missed out on anything so far (except for a nice covering from a northerly heavy snow shower a week last Sunday). This time I think North Lincs is fully in the game. Lampost watching at the ready for tomorrow night
  9. Don't get the winter is over comments in the model thread. How can something that never began be over? Oh what I'd give for a northern toppler!
  10. snow shield still off - checked radar and could it be a north lincs streamer tonight? One can dream (which i will as I'm off to bed)
  11. Ice must have brought the pylon down, snow shield gone off again.
  12. Snow shield up again. I'll be fighting through the 1mm drifts tomorrow!
  13. Pants - more sleety now and not settling any more. Feels like we have clutched defeat from the jaws of victory .
  14. Brigg is a few miles east of scunny and lots coming down now - and settling in areas. Maybe, just maybe.....
  15. first flakes in Brigg. Just loaded car as off to Lincoln tomorrow and plenty being blown on quick wind. Fingers crossed I won't get there but I think a covering may be beyond us (although meto disagrees!)
  16. Rain in Brigg :-( (Though did have a slight snow cover Monday morning - non in Lincoln when I got there). Forecast says it'll turn to snow - I hope!
  17. No one here today - so rather than lurk as I have done for the past 5 years I will post. Given up with GFS this winter. I ignore all its output post 96hrs. I used to think it a good model for trend spotting. However it only spots trends as it is run so often it shows every variable possible. Which isn't really trend spotting more a model akin to monkeys, typewritters and the complete work of shakespeare. Thus I think its output not just tonight but for ever should be ignored - I recall Ian F has commented that it's what the professionals do at the meto with regard the gfs.
  18. No snow here but a beautiful clear day, chilly but perfect for a walk
  19. Been in garden tidying up from `10-2p.m and first time I've had the pleasure of gardening when snow is falling. Just four brief falls, each a few minutes and so light you could count the number of flakes - maybe just the start
  20. Went to the bin half an hour ago to be greeted by the lightest of snow showers. Good way to start a day and maybe a sign of things to come
  21. No idea what's coming down now as the windows are all covered up with snow/sleet/what ever - and it's too wild to tempt me to go out and find out
  22. A very pleasing covering in Brigg. If it's gone tomorrow so be it, at least I was in on the snow unlike Sunday which saw snow just 20miles away in Lincoln and rain here. Fingers crossed UKMO will bring in something from the more reliable East to end off winter - done OK from these westerly based snow events but they're always marginal and involve too much nail biting.
  23. I think the technical term is 'it's chucking it down' Fun but wet
