  1. We had a really beefy snow shower that lasted over an hour at about 11.30 which gave us a good 2cm's In Osgodby, Scarborough. Would have been more I'm sure but temp was 1.6C when the shower hit. By the time it had cleared the temp had dropped to -0.4 which encouraged the laying!

Radar looking good for the next couple of hours and the sky is darkening as I type.

    Temp 0.2C.

Can anyone advise why my new weather station is recording a dew point of -175.2C?? Iv'e checked the instructions and can't find any answers! It was working last night and all other data appears to be correct! ;)

  2. Waited and waited and waited yesterday with no shower activity here in Scarborough. I was gazing at the sky last night with that beautiful bright moon illuminating all the fluffy cumulus and wondering what the fuss was all about!

Brilliantly, on the stroke of midnight (literaly) the white stuff started to fall! We've had very light snow showers since resulting in nothing but a dusting.

Brand new weather station set up last night shows temp of -0.5C. with a minimum of -2.5C last night.

Dew point is showing -175.2C! (Back to the instruction book!) :cold:

  3. Woke up to heavy snow this morning at about 7.10. It left another 2-3cm's before clearing and as I type a light snow shower is blowing in.

I spent half an hour trying to unblock the drains last night only to realise they had frozen solid outside!! It's not been above freezing here since Friday!

Can anyone advise on the PPN tonight? The BBC show rain over us but at the same time temps of -3C. I'm a bit confused about that one!

Iv'e uploaded my weather pics into the photo gallery if anyones interested!

    Her's a snippet!

  4. Meteox showing more snow to come and it really is coming down at mo.

This is ACE! Not seen snow like this for ages! It really is piling up fast here at Osgodby. I have the temp at 0.8C and can here dripping though so I think It's borderline till it clears then like I said -7C! Should be interesting in the morning!

Do you have a copy of tonights evening news? I got some snow pics in there!

  5. Well I braved it and cycled 5 miles home from work thinking the worst was over! It was mainly sleet and wet snow but still gave a 2cm covering on top of already laying snow.

Since i got home it has bucketed down! still is!

We now have 8cm's and it still coming. It seems the straight forward band of snow has bent in on itself and is now lingering right over us! Not sure how long it will last.

The MO have us down for -7C tonight after the snow clears!

The 5 niles back to work at 6am should be VERY interesting!

  6. I'm in Scarborough too (Osgodby). The BBc got me really excited with their forecast but I must say I'm dissapointed so far! we've had loads of snow but it seems to be the real dry, powdery stuff that just blows away as soon as it lands! The radar still looks great though so fingers crossed for later! I want to get some good wintry pics tomorrow morning and this dusting just won't suffice!
