Radar showing showers incoming! Nothing too heavy. I'm interested to see how Friday and the weekend pans out. I don't really mind how much snow we get (We've still got loads from Monday!). What I really don't want is to lose the cold. If it's going to be marginal here you can keep it!!

From what i can make of the forecasts GFS is fairly dry but keeps us in the really cold air with daytime maxima barely above freezing. Meto show Snow Friday but turning marginal on the coast and low levels Saturday and Sunday with sleet or rain more likely. From an IMBY POV I'd take the GFS version!

-4.7C at the moment after a low of -5.2C. (Not bad for the coast!!). Met website forecast show persistant sleet sat and sun so I'd rather it be dry and cold!!

Just stuck my head out the door perhaps 1 cm on the surfaces that had thawed today. Trees, roads and cars all white over again. Topped up the existing snowcover too! May just catch the odd shower tomorrow. Friday looks good. In fact, the whole 18z run is a beauty!

Snowing again, laying nicely on the road too which had turned really icy before the shower. Nasty driving in the morning!

Been keeping an eye on the showers getting closer (Anything to put off this piggin essay!) and the big one heading for us ruddy split and now the gap is heading right for us. Should be a covering on the way for some though!

Temp up to 1.7C here but dew points -3.5C so very icy after a slight thaw. Caught a couple of decent showers earlier too that topped up what had thawed! I notice some decent looking showers on't radar that would hit here soon if they keep on the same track.

This is a nice top up! The thawed areas now white over again. Perhaps 1cm and still coming down.

Snowing again here in Scarborough. Didn't see this one coming! fairly heavy too!

Temp gone up to 1.7C now and humidity at 99%! Looked out of the window expecting a thaw but it doesn't seem to be happening thankfully! Shame though because we were pretty close to an ice day aswell with -0.1C the highest and -0.3C the lowest!

Here's some photos taken today from Scarborough. The old Filey Road at about 3pm. Clock tower on the Esplanade. Snowman! Grand hotel from Spa bridge. Snow on the Beach! Very Rare! No school tomorrow! Birdhouse update!! As I'm typing it's Still snowing! Fairly light with the odd heavier bursts. Dew point just tipped over freezing though at 0.2C so some coastal modification maybe kicking in. As i mentioned earlier traffic was horrendous through the town and radio York were reporting people stuck in their cars for 2 hours and only moved 500 metres! A truly epic day and one i'll remember for a long time! Outlook is promising too!

That'll teach me! We've had solid snowfall since 11.00 and it's still coming down lightly. You should see that birdhouse now. Took us 1 and a half hours to get home from the hospital to Eastfield normally a 15 min journey!! . . Scarborough even got a mention on the BBC national news. I reckon at least 4 or 5 inches. i'll upload pics when the boys in bed!!

Snowy Scarborough! Well a snowy back garden in Scarborough!!

Had 2 cm's this morning from overnight snow which i didn't expect. Been in York this morning for lectures and it really bucketed it down! Coming back to Scarborough we drove out of the heavier stuff at Malton to find light snow here. Double whammy for me! Got the heavier part in York, drove out of it and it's following me due to hit Scarborough anytime. Sorry i waffle on when i'm excited! Temp 0.1C with dewpoint at 0.0C. I expect evaporative cooling to keep it down when the heavy stuff gets here.

Ooooh. Quite a good covering here in Scarborough. Didn't expect that. Temp - 0.2C Dew Point -0.4C. Bring on the heavy stuff!

A few flakes blowing around the lampost! Not laying. Not cold enough. Temp steady for hours and stuck at +0.7C at the moment with Dew point of +0.5C. I really hope it cools down a bit otherwise tomorrow could be a disaster!

What kind of temps or Dew points are people recording at the moment? I'm recording 0.7C with dew point of 0.5C. Wish it would drop but seems to be sticking at that!
