Where about are you?
Higher ground in Northwest Wales has been getting snow for most of the day.
pontypridd just north of cardiff, upper boat, A470. mountains are white but nothing for us! i know though that andymusic and wales (on here) are nearabouts graig hill which is only a 5 min rive from here and they have snow. obviously its all down to the above sea level and height!

there is certainly a huge dumping of snow going on in mid wales and just north of cardiff. and it appears the front has stalled with no movement.

3 Hours to get home from Merthyr. A465 an absolute nightmare. Trucks and cars abandoned
Getting back into the village wasn't nice either after id pushed the missus car up a hill and then waited for a gritter to get mine out . Good few inches here an more to come I think
blackjack glad at least you had some warning from us! those cams are useful in situations like this!

Back to rain in Merthyr. Getting past New Tredegar will be fun in the way home and i don't have a clue what highest point is like.

snowing taffs well, now in upper boat A470. so this is moving up north, just keeping an eye of traffic cams. guess it will be at pontypridd A470 in a few minutes.

Well - top of the Graig my mrs just came back from doing her horse duties and nearly totalled her car coming back - very slippy and icy
excellent news andy about the snow not about mrs nearly totalling car! looks like i wont be venturing up graig for a pint too soon then! LOL

andymusic - we have no covering here at Upper Boat, just wintry mix with sleet and big flakes, but not covering!
lets hope next few hours has something to offer.

GFS on Meteogroup is showing snow at least from 3am until 3pm Tuesday (from Tuesday)
Correct me if I am wrong why is this bad news!?

GFS isnt good for us at the moment in Wales.

morning all, hope you all had a good christmas! not been around after our let down with the snow just before christmas, but thought i would check in, given the latest interesting situation. i dont know how reliable you guys rate meteogroups charts, but it certainly is showing interesting reading from mon/tues 0000z right until thursday into friday. would be good to hear from the more experienced guys here what their thoughts are on the charts. only attaching one link and let you read through the forecast onwards from 0000z.

Car just crashed here trying to get up the hill. BMW. His wheels were spinning like crazy then jolted forward nd crashed into my court wall. Hes driven off now tho and now damage to my wall but his light smashed. My hill is a complete ice rink all snow is ice. My parents actualy went to work, they got no chance of getting back up the hill.
i bet graig hill and pencoedcae hill are fun today! no chance of getting up or down that. therefore not suprised at all.

Woke up to a little bit of snow this morning. Much of it has turned to ice and is starting to melt
I would say no more than 2cm of snow last night.
just caught this on traffic cams wales before it was turned off!

Freezing rain on the Estate I live on by Junction 28 of M4, my car just went sideways and smashed my alloy on the kerb, skating rink!
we had a heavy shower completely out of blue as was not following things on here at about 23:00, then stopped then started again about 1am - heave snow, main road outside very treacheraous and only now snow ploughs came. a470 looks ok now after ploughts been down, but temps sill hovering around minus 2 - 0 degrees, now i am off to bed, seriously! got to make london heathrow tomorrow, somehow!

Looking at the radar , it currently shows snow within a stones throw from here in swansea , sooooo close its unreal ,but most reports on here are quoting rain/sleet, how accurate are these radars??
Perhaps its just my lampost playing tricks.
I swear if theres no snow soon that lampost is getting a kicking.
