Here's a few of my pics from Colkirk, Norfolk. (Near Fakenham, just off A1065)
I have to say i've never experienced a night like last night, i was very worried for my safety. my friend and i were working late and began our journey at 10pm, we finally arrived back at his at 3:15am! (a journey of only 7 miles along minor roads)
we experienced horizontal snow, lightning, and gale force winds which led to powerlines across the roads (still live and sparking!), trees and hedges uprooted and some of the biggest snow drifts i have personally seen (i'm only 22 so havent really experienced a "proper winter" as my dad calls it)
we got within 3 miles of my friends house before we finally ran out of luck with the punto, we done a good job of getting it stuck in a huge drift. so we continued our journey by foot and came across an elderly couple stuck in their micra. we ended up walking this couple home as they had no torch or proper clothing. Norfolk police done a fine job of writing-off a police car by ditching it and the fire service got stuck on a call out to a fire near dereham. I have NEVER experienced such weather and will think twice before i travel in it again (unless i take a landrover defender or something)
these pics are from my mobile during daylight, i will post the night time photos when i manage to get to my friends house again soon.
