  1. I reckon even Northwich should get a dumping from this-although its only wet snow here-a 10-20 miles East/South east of me -they should get hammered with good snow.
  2. Wow-temp coming down fast here to around 3.5c-massive black clouds and icy rain falling in strong wind.
  3. Thanks mate...nearly 5C here now......looks like it will lash down with rain any minute.
  4. I can't believe how warm it is here, +4C. Wind seems to be getting up, I notice the MetO has a warning for all our region, including Merseyside (dunno why here-it's roasting!)
  5. Happy New Year , let's hope it's a good one, with snow slow to clear
  6. No met office warnings for tonight/tomorrow for our region
  7. yeah.....could be lower Flintshire....hard to say..maybe the Wirral is below the treeline I'm looking over.
  8. I can see the Wirral and Welsh Hills from here-the Wirral looks like it's got a covering! (nothing here)
  9. Yup rain here in Woolton-and we are supposed to be highest point in Liverpool!
  10. Interesting....thank you for that. As a complete amateur, compared to you guys, could you explain what Dam Line and 'The Heights' are exactly?
  11. Its a gnat's nudger over 2C here-been hammering down with sleet for over an hour. I need a temp drop-desparate, any chance?
  12. In Mersyside we'd be made up with a bad starter-in our restaraunt, the main course is always off!
  13. Yeah I'm copying that slight drop-fraction above 1 here
  14. Yup-temps in west rising 3.5C Aberdaron, 2.5C Valley
  15. Thanks mate, my money is on sleety, rainy stuff-just based on experience. I remember 194/95 I think, when the whole of the NW got battered and we got none!
  16. So what do you see happening to us here in S.Liverpool mate?
  17. Just come in-that wind is biting, maybe swinging to the North
  18. Hi-Luke, Im just up the road from you. I remember the 81/82 dumping-that was a maasive dumping all in one day, I can't remember it lasting very long on the ground though. I also remember the winter of 1963, snowed boxing day here and stayed on the ground right through January/February and it was very cold. There was no horse racing in UK till March that year. I'm sure we had more snow in the 60's early 70's-I remember sledging a lot down Camp Hill in those days!
  19. Current odds with Ladbrookes of snow falling in London on Xmas day is 11/4 Some regional odds can be found here http://www.online-betting-guide.co.uk/white-christmas.htm William Hil have shortened the odds of the lowest temperature ever recorded in England (-26.1C) being beaten this winter, from 18/1 to 16/1 after the weekend cold snap encouraged a flurry of bets to be placed.
  20. Cool.........happy days for Southport.....'bout time you got a good dump
