According to the 0800 Infrared-the main body of the showers are still mianly to the North of us-they haven't hit us yet in all their glory-but they're on their way.
We've just had a Hail shower pass through, trying to snow a bit but dark clouds to the North. Biirchwood on the M62 has had about an inch-and thats just east of me-no appreciable snow yet-temp 0C, wind appears to be westerly.
Polar Low would be cool.....but if those showers shown on the radar take the same path as the front (and it seems so far they are).....I can see them missing coastal regions.........we need a North wind.
Yeah...and maybe this event happed a month or two too early. Irish sea could be a degree or so cooler later in the year due to the time it takes to cool down after summer/autumn.
It's really hissing down here now (with rain)-temp +3.6. I tell you what if this rain turns to snow as it moves East you guys are going to get a whiteout! Just got an indication out there then, that the wind may be swinging a bit to the north.
Yes, that's what I'm thinking-the Irish Sea is just too warm..and while the wind is in West we will see little snow, we need a swing in the wind to the North
Morning all-temp in S.Liverpool is currently -2.5, very calm and still, with thin grey cloud at about 5-6000 ft. I am suprised at the lack of frost here, considering it must have gone -5 overnight-just a light frost but soil frozen.
Hi Stephen-I'm in Woolton, not too far from you-wind seems to have picked up-temp is -1 approx, and I can see a lot of cloud over the the Saddleworth/Winter hill area. That cloud seems to be moving in a southerly direction.
BBc Forecast 10.35pm. Low coming down from the North, focus will definitely be on the North West and Scotland Sat/Sun for snow-cold northerly winds associated with this low.
Yeah snowed at Goodison (shower), we are getting the odd flurry in Woolton (S.Liverpool). I can see a bank of cloud looking towards the Winter Hill area and a heavyish cloud over Hale, Liverpool airport area. Temp in my garden is -1 with biting N wind.
