One thing I've noticed this winter is we do better when nobody else really does!
When it's a nation/region wide event we do poorly compared to most. Still, gonna be a lot of window watching at work today!

As I expected, a poor night here in Shrewsbury, but of a covering but sodden in most places
It's so windy though! I guess 24 hours of snow will do tomorrow, 48 hours is just greedy!

Met O have snowmaggeddon for everywhere around here tomorrow, Oswestry, Telford... We have rain and sleet until the evening
Hope his ends further south than expected, and Shrewsbury rises up altitude wise haha!!!
All winter us shrews folk have done well in the marginal event, against the norm. Is it greedy to ask for 1 more event!?

Met O forecasting heavy snow for Telford tomorrow, sleet for here, why? Elevation?

Not nearly as snowy here as Dec 2010, which had 21 days of snow lying and 15cm max depth, but if wasnt for that thawing it may have come closer. Wiped the floor with winter 09/10 though, never managed more than 6cm then.

It's been strange winter here, more snowy than normal, but not as cold, we've done well on a few marginals whereas normally it's rain all the way in Shrewsbury!
Not sure how ill remember this winter! The next 2 weeks may have some bearing, the charts apparently look interesting!
Atm I'd probably say 7.5/10, not in the same vein as 09/10/11 roughly
Must add that people have different standards. Here 10cm is a rarity and alot of snow. So I'll ramp that whereas others will have 20, but we'll both be just as happy!

It certainly was weird, leaving a full snowcover here in Harlescott to find only a smidgen left in Monkmoor, and nothing at all at Meole. This was around 3pm, about 2 hours after it stopped snowing here. It apparently turned to rain and thawed in town while still snowing here too. Thats barely 2 miles away!
Gotta love the weather, it really was something I've never seen before in this town
Anyway, been a lovely day today, one of the best in months

What was there has thawed. Very localised event even in just the town though, quite interesting

So often Shrewsbury gets the low temperatures but misses most of the snow, this winter has been the complete opposite with plenty of snow despite it hardly ever falling below -3

Yes it's been cold at times but nowhere near bone chilling. Lots of days with snow visible and/or falling

To be fair, bar the build up to the January cold spell, Shrewsbury has done really quite okay compared to normal
The most bizzare bit is that this is the 2nd out of 2 marginal events to delivery snow this winter. It's nearly always rain here, weird!
