  1. Nothing's ever cut and dry here is it? Let hope tommorows run are much, much different.
  2. Still seems a lot of un-certainty to me. Definetely going to be one of thoose nights to lampost watch. I dont expect anything here, so if nothing comes il try not to be to frustrated.
  3. Ive got to admit, im still worried about how marginal its going to be here tommorow night. We need to tap into as much cold air and need as much evaporating cooling as possible. If the heavier PPN doesn't make it here, I can forsee an extremely sleety and highly frustrating night tommorow.
  4. BBC looking good - showed snow over the region for much longer than I expected. Special segment from midlands today as well by the looks of things.
  5. Nice round up. Im 7 miles south of Stafford so im loving the fact ill be inside the 'triangle' of the heavyest snow. Id be very happy with a decent covering. But wouldnt a couple of inches, topped up by the cheshire gap streamer over the weekend be extra special just over a week before christmas.
  6. Be interesting to see if we get some more in-detail forecasts on midlands today/bbc weather this evening. I'd imagine there will be some sort of extra information about tommorow night.
  7. Look at the traffic in this thread. Brings back the memories of this time last year.
  8. Eugene has covered my worries. I dont think its going to be as clear cut as rain to snow and snow to settling snow for alot of areas. Especially thoose that aren't above 100m's, which is alot in the local towns surrounding myself.
  9. Think im slightly below at around 85M's - that and the power station never bode well for snowfall here. Looking forward to tommorow night. I finish work at 11!
  10. Just hoping its not properly marginal so I can see some decent accumulating snow. At only 80M'S ASL its not looking to brillant, but here's hoping. The beeb graphics looked amazing!
  11. I just wish i lived 100m' higher. My snow 'feelings' would be so much more optismitic.
  12. Blimey i feel sick in preparation of the rollercoaster we're going to be on between now and Saturday.
  13. A better looking run. Hope everything comes through. I have to admit perhaps i was being slightly OTT in my negativity earlier. Stressful days for me at the moment and sometimes its nice to let a bit of negativity steam off. Just one word of warning though this time Sunday we were saying 'great snow potential between tuesday-thursday' and today's turned out to be fairly snowless. Hope it comes off though.
  14. Hmm more runs needed, but things not looking great. Still plenty of time for northware movement.
  15. Midlands today forecast was soul-destroying. Showers turning from a wintry mix over high ground back to rain as the day goes on tommorow, no mention of snow or wintryness on Thursday night and temps of 7oc on friday & saturday.
  16. Tonights runs aren't looking to bright for after the weekend. Let's hope they change.
  17. Wonder if the shower stream will get going again later. Forecasts ive seen suggest it might.
  18. Im not meaning to be so pessimistic, but its becoming a bit of an expected pattern in my part of the world for a lack of snow unless we're higher, or things are absolutely 100% perfect. Ie, sadly not in the next few days.
  19. Well the midlands today forecast instantly gives me no hope. Words such as 'above 200m', 'hilltops', 'elevation', 'higher ground'. There was barely any graphics that showed anything but rain bar over the costswalds. Game over until Friday, by which time we'l probably get a damp squib and a slight breeze. Typical.
  20. The bain of my life during winter. That and a big power station just do nothing for me!
  21. Well the Beeb hardly mentioned snow just. Showed showers tonight and tommorow as rain, with Sleet over higher ground except for in the north of England & Scotland. Be interesting to see what midlands today say.
  22. Anyone expecting much shower activity NOrth of Warwickshire today, is hopecasting. Winds seems to have changed the course of the showers slightly since last night. Expeecting a dry and crisp day with the outside chance of graupel/rain shower.
  23. Sheets of water and a strong wind has literally just blasted my window.
