  1. Sorry, I ment the advisories on the tv forecast.

well fingers crossed we see some more i mean this is turning out to be a real stonker of a winter so far but just somthing to add as well my cousin rang me up to with happy new year from canada toronto and he said they have had nothing yet which is very very unsual and yet were getting quite a bit maybe this global warming got something to do with it but personally i think its all a load of tosh just another way to make money out of us. anyways roll on sunday/monday:drinks:

  2. It really started to get heavy at about 3am, we had an inch in 30 mins! and was still going when I crawled to bed.

Yeah, I saw the advisories about sunday into monday, could be another good amount! :D

ive been looking at this for sunday monday but cant see any LP or anything around then just high pressure is there somthing im not seeing there?

  3. that band mover midlands, Gloucester etc should be heading this way! i hope it doesnt die out

yes direct hit for bristol thats another 3 inches to add to the collection cheers:drinks:

  4. The question is how far south can it get.

It may get stuck 50miles or so north of the current lower band and then rotate around it.

Will just have to watch this one,

whats so frustrating to see though is that the heaviest of all this is over the sea off the west coast and its all being wasted on sum bloody fishing trawler out there lol:wallbash:

  5. Lol, do you think i'll see anything?

the thing is this is what happens when you try to predict something that hasent developed yet i mean i just watched a weather update from the bbc online and they showed the us at 4pm with quite heavy snow lying across glous bristol somerset and devon now lookin at the radar theres nothing more than a few speckles across devon and alittle bit just north of glous nothing around the bristol somerset areas has usual anothe let down and it just goes to show even at this late stage ppl still get it wrong.

  6. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me....

little bit tougue in cheek really but somewhere down the line i can see it happening the only thing is the mild air would proberley win and then we will be in our usual south westerley air flow and stuck for weeks but hey that aint gonna happen for a while yet so lets enjoy some proper winter weather for a change bring on the snow we deserve it after years of near misses and hurt:rolleyes:

  7. Lol,

I would expect Ian will be talking to his BBC co workers with regards to the latest output.

It is looking very good currently.

Lets hope its not just a blip.

lets face it what we really want is 1 of our big atlantic monsters to come pay us a visit now we have the cold air established over us and give us the dumping of a lifetime but i dont want it to push all the way in coz of the mild air behind it so after a good 24hr dumping it can go roll back into the atlantic as the bitterley cold easterlie air blocks it path and pushes it away not to much to ask is it?

  8. yup thought the same, temps are on the rise here to from 4C up to 7C now huge jump in just a few hours.. I think we have a nice warm blanket wrapped around the SW peninsular..

Well said Ian, i think some people still think that the weather men and woman actually make the weather.. i know i did when i was about 4 yrs old :yahoo:

    kaz x

showers steadily getting closer to bristol temp is 1c but still not cold enough for a little bit of snow so i guess its more rain for us tonight but i am lookin a little bit forward to sunday into monday with the possibilty of some real snow action for the SW but this is 5 days away and when forecasting snow this is like an eterninity coz things change from day to day so for now worth just keeping an eye on.

  9. Even more showers appearing.

Also , i would of thought that as he low moves east it would start to drag the shows back south with it. ( just my thoughts )

Not sure how far north these other showers will push. They look like making it all the way over us.

    2.0c here

bristol to get smashed by white out anytime now with temps 1c and dropping with a clutch of showers right to the south of us yippeeeeeeeeee

  10. RIght - It is currently 0.2C here up in the cotswolds

We need the fronts on the radar to converge and mix... The latest models show the front stalling further SOuth. As the front from the SW approaches - is will 'suck in' the cold air from the North - As these meet they will produce a massive gradient and this will bring the snow level down to sea level - this however will be a very small line (50 miles or so thick)

sounds interesting bristol might have a chance after all then
