This i concur not just as bad yet i worked for NIE then was 3 weeks putting electricity back on again after the 1998 storm.
Thankfully not quite as bad as that one. I remember going for a walk the following morning and couldnt believe my eyes - trees down everywhere

Absolute beast of a storm here in County Antrim, worst in years.
Reminds me of the 1998 boxing day storm.

I've had one storm here in Dover where the lighting was so frequent, it didn't have time to file in to each other, it was just a constant roar.
Sounds like quite an experience. Normally the storms here are just a few rumbles, well spaced apart then it's gone. This year they've been more intense but not quite in the constant roar category!

Tremendous storms in N Ireland today. Frequent lightning and the thunder was constant at times with rumbles rolling into each other.

Well I suppose we can now add Scotland to the growing list of places better than the N Midlands for storms
Anyone on here see any action today?
I caught some lovely cloudscapes as the front passed over
Yep really good storms here today.
No strikes quite as near as this one from 2017 as it struck a transformer a couple of hundred yards from the house

Northern Ireland should have had an amber warning, a lot of severe flooding in parts there. Eglinton looks dreadful.
Yep pretty severe weather today here in N Ireland. Numerous rounds of storms from mid-afternoon. Thunder just kept on going for most of the day.
Then the the really big storms hit just after it got dark - perfect timing really!
And what a show - frequent vivid lightning and explosive thunder. Power was out here for a couple of hours and there are widespread reports of flooding.
Amazing stuff.

Would be nice to have a long settled spell but the jet stream way too far south for that.
Definitely not the worst summer I can remember - plently of storms and fairly warm with sunshine most days much better than some years.
