  2. Good chance c00kie its not long grazed by me here just to the north of you so all being well should hit u full on!
  3. oh my CMD it looks like that shower has intensified as its passed by me!! looks much bigger on the radar now. enjoy!!
  4. Got some snow with a label saying please deliver to glasgow written on it... steady snow in garelochhead (just north of helensburgh)
  5. Hi guys, what a day. We got to ullapool just about last night to get the crossing this morning to lewis... got up, another 5 inches in ullapool and calmac canceled the sailing due to snowfall in the minch!!! couldnt believe it, so spent the day travelling back to argyll through blizzards, drifts the whole shouting match!! just home now having battled through heavy snow on the A82 all the way from glencoe village to just south of Crianlarich. Not much snow here in Garelochhead though..
  6. Just made it from glasgow to ullapool tonight. Set off at 5pm, met heavy snow from crianlarich all the way to drumnadrochit before it went off. Road from garve to ullapool is in a bad way, covered with 2foot drifts at its sides. Enjoyable drive apart from the deer. Can c first hand now the snow up here compared to the central belt
  7. Gotta drive to ullapool tonight ....... oh yikes look at Aultguish indeed
  8. about 1c here now and can clearly see snow falling on the hills and mountains across the loch
  9. just above 0c here now, some very thick clouds backing up on the mountains around us
  10. Bit off the weather but slightly related.... been scouring the place for snow chains... totally ziltch only place that has a supply is kilmarnock of all places!
  11. Morning all, very cold crisp and frosty start to the day. -6c on the gareloch at 6am this morning, was like driving in snow with the heavy frost... white tracks and no gritters anywhere in fact the gritters still havent been out on the A roads yet. The impending Fife grind to a halt was also on radio1's news this morning, one of the top story's indeed with the grit due to run out. wonder if they're carting oor grit over this morning mmmmmm.
  12. But by the time it reaches here are we not expected to be within the sub 528 dam line with around -7 to -10c 850s which means it should fall as snow pretty much anywhere and everywhere it reaches. Dont think the faroes have the cold uppers yet and given they are small islands you would perhaps expect it to be more sleety. (having a guess)
  13. is it my imagination or does the big lump of cloud with our name on it to our north appear to be growing a bit as it passes over the faroes? sat24
  14. bitterly cold here, but no trace of any snow at all... only snow we have is up in the mountains unfortunately... really need something to push down the west coast!!
  15. Just pottering around the west side of the central belt driving me choochoo and oh what joy to see snow falling pretty much everywhere and anywhere. Gone off just now and more sun than anything but its so good to c fresh snow (not driving at the mo btw!)
  16. totatlly missed us in argyll, big moon and very cold though.... oh well looks like i must go to work then, why cant we get a wee bit of inverness snow,
  17. Noticed the last bbc forcast had the band of snow/sleet vanish as it got to the central belt and then reappear again through the borders... does that mean they expect the mountains to draw most of the precipitation out of the band and then have it pick up again when it moves further south?
  18. i missed that as well Ross... like the summary for loch lomond national park, fingers crossed i wont make work tomoz
  19. Just looking at the large bank of cloud starting to move out from Norway, is that our low thats to develop for tomorrow? looks a fair size if its all to come our way Thing thats the same thing ive been looking at mondy... i dont think its fog as its been moving south all day behind the feature that is now just off our ne coast. if thats for tomorrow then i think we could all get a taste of it!
  20. I think theres just too many mountains to get over for the snow to get us here in Argyll CMD takes a strong easterly and a bit of luck, think our best shot is a north nw flow.
  21. Just announced that inverness new year bash is canceled due to the snow
  22. No new snow in Argyll since before crimbo now, when will it be our turn
  23. Cracking winter sunshine here in argyllshire this morning, definitly feeling much colder than yesterday for sure. Liking the look of all that pink on the radars this morning.... all areas exposed to that ne wind look to be getting it today.
  24. feel like im missing out... im way too sheltered here in argyll will take some wind to blow the showers over the mountains to us
