  1. So for the first time since mid mid May, I have recorded the lowest max temp at 13.2c….What’s is so annoying we have been having a constant feed of heavy showers since 9am and still going. Now when the same northerly airflow has happened in Winter , the showers clips the east coast say Yarmouth Lowestoft etc of which is Snow. Just incredible that this always happen.
  2. After not seeing any mean full rain the last 5 months , and not too much this Far East for next week as well…However heading to North Wales for the week tomorrow, unbelievable timing after working all through the heat of summer, so a little depressed about that,as heavy rain and gusty winds forecast for the whole week for that part of the uk…No surprise being close to that low pressure just sitting there spinning around and spinning and spinning and spinning you get the idea lol
  3. So what seems to be one of the best August in years in this part of Norfolk , things seem to be look very unsettled for the start of September..I always take the first 2 weeks off have done for the last 18 years only ever had one bad September.Still a long way off but not looking great especially in the west where I am heading. How ironic would it be if September turned out to be cool and wet.,when it's normally the continuous of summer.
  4. As of 10.25 am Only had a 5mins of heavy rain. Literally been on the edge of the rain band here in Attleborough, Tho just back from Thetford and roads are flooded...the band moving north but seems to be keeping just to the west of me as it stands
  5. The way the ECM has been forecasting rain this part of Norfolk, been wide of the mark all summer, how can a chart even 48hrs ahead perform so badly…Not a drop of rain today…
  6. This is just normal for this time of year. I have seen this many times late August early September.
  7. Nothing at all in Attleborough, only parts of Norfolk that have seen any measurable rainfall was NW Norfolk that had well over 60mm, and an isolated storm just off the coast of Yarmouth yesterday…I have recorded 0mm
  8. Lots of mix messages on here about rainfall for the start of next week.
  9. I’ve just been reading all the summer 3 month forecast that was released from various outputs back in late May , not one is right for the summer in England.
  10. The sea is at temp is now heading toward its warmest point of the year, so may not be that bad if that did happen…
  11. I agree The ECM has been absolutely crap regarding rain , for the last 8 weeks 5 days ahead shows this part of Norfolk there will be “lots of rain” with it showing accumulation of anything up to 20mm at times never has happened. Not convinced for Sunday either local radio weather is saying “wet all day with heavy bursts at times” national as well. If this doesn’t happen well!!!!
  12. Will be interesting to see if this rain will appear on Sunday, Watch this space I guess , last significant rainfall 6th June…
  13. Awful looking 0z run this morning, Even for us in the south east, the North very Autumn like, Oh yeah I forgot it’s August in a weeks time , So with this chart run a normal cool wet August? As I’ve said in so many posts in the past August is one of my wettest months. We desperately need the rain here, so watch this space
  14. Here in Attleborough mid Norfolk I recorded a below average Jan rainfall, Above Feb, Mar/Apr/May/June well below average, This month 0mm, we have missed all the showers this month. Last measurable rainfall here was 5th June over 20mm which was gentle but at times heavy for a few hours, before that was back in March, over 25mm in a day. Normally August can be my wettest month of the year.2021/20/19/18/17 had days from heavy prolonged storms, 2020, I recorded over 80mm in just one day from a storm that sat over us for a good few hours. So time will tell if August 2022 will follow the above. As always be carful what you all wish for, as I’ve seen many long dry spells, then when the weather gods want to cause havoc in rain they will.
  15. Not something we have seen recently a cloudy start to the day, 17c welcome for most. Most schools break up today here in Norfolk. The summer holiday season will be in full pelt this weekend, looking good at 30+ Sunday However as we have all expected the early outlook for the start of August looks a little more mixed ( no surprise there) weather any rain will arrive to the very dry Norfolk is still not certain, but temperatures very up and down, but nothing extreme as yet, I’ve measured no rain at all so far this month, over 20mm, in June ( most of that on the 5th) If August fails for rain then summer 2022 will be the driest since 2010 since I recorded.
  16. Currently 17.6c here mid Norfolk at 7.30, which I have had much higher at this time on the max 30 days , so lot of warmth needed to break my record of 36.4c, that day it was 26c at 8 am, as other people have said lots of high level cloud approaching already…Interesting day, at the moment I think my record safe for today maybe, can’t see it happening at the moment Same here , way to early for this to happen
  17. It did this 11 days ago, for the Friday just gone, went AWOL, but firmed up obviously for Today and Tuesday instead as always take as a pinch of salt, but to happen again, would be crazy
  18. Wake up this morning to see GFS picking up the heat yet again for next week, unbelievable Jeff..
  19. Unexpected cloud cover this afternoon which has limited the temperature to part of Norfolk to 28.5c, Wasn’t expected by any of the charts…Or any chat here…
  20. Same here, all of a sudden the clear blues skies have gone, very hazy and not even bright , well strange ,
  21. So no breakdown for the east and south east on the latest GFS run for Wednesday ,looks like possibly happening overnight.
  22. We also have unexpected cloud this morning with a surprising breeze , currently 18.6c at 8.30, Just taken the dog out and was very pleasant…Will be interesting to see if cloud cover Monday Tuesday will make an unexpected appearance..Also local radio have said Wednesday could hit 30c in this part of Norfolk, with only a small chance of a shower
  23. I am reading this and just out of nowhere a sudden heavy shower over Attleborough, it’s dampen the dust and the smell is lovely, first bit of rain in weeks, obviously will do nothing for the farmers, but surprisingly to see as nothing no rain was forecast,
  24. So the latest 12z runs shows 38c for Norfolk next Monday, Tuesday 28c , then 17c Wednesday then back to 28c WTF happen Wednesday?..
  25. 28c max here today, nice breeze with it, so not much humidity so was comfortable..So the talk about 40c has shifted from Friday a few days ago to now next Monday…always that 7-10 days away, Until I see charts that show 40c+ in a 3 day reliable time frame I will shut up ….
