  1. Dear oh dear, things are getting extremely serious in this area, just heard that a caravan has been sept into the river with people still inside.
  2. Rescue operation ongoing in Bromyard at the moment and many others in the Hereford area
  3. Well according to "Will It Snow" there is a 15% chance on Tuesday in Inverness
  4. Had a storm here from about 9 until 10, the rain was exceptionaly heavy and after hearing some strange noises, I started wondering if I really should be trying to drive through 18 inches of standing water.
  5. I can't help but it may be a gooseberry bush, I am only going on the fact that there is a human underneath it, and I for one was found under one according to my parents.
  6. Brian Shepherd from EMI records used to be able to forecast the direction of storms from his headaches, he had about a 90% success rate.
  7. We had a storm in this area yesterday afternoon at about 16:30, thunder and lightning for about half hour, but the rain was probably the heaviest and most prolonged I have seen it in years, we live on a hill and the road had about an inch of water running down the middle, and for the first time in my 7 years of living here, there was flash flooding on all the roads in the area. It was quite amazing to see the amaount of water that fell in that time.
  8. Thumbs down to the train as well for me. Out of the 8 times I have decided to use a train to go to London, I was late once, so drove instead, once I was waiting for 25 minutes in the queue for a ticket as my local station doesn't do the collect at station for online purchases and just as I got to the front of the queue the train went, and the other 6 times the train was either extremely late or cancelled. I cannot get an earlier train locally as the first one is at 6 so unless I go the night before and stay in a hotel at even more cost, then it is considerably less expensive and more reliable to drive and pay the £12 for a days parking in Victoria
  9. I walk down the stairs to the office. When I go to meetings/appointments then I will drive, have attempted/tried public transport on many occasions but it is eitther late or cancelled.
  10. 0.8oC here with clear skies.
  11. But variety is the spice of life don't they say? TBH I can't see any problem with recycling as such, we have done it since 2005 when it was introduced here. The only thing I have against it all are the plans to charge you if your wheelie bin is over a certain weight, regardless of whether you recycle or not. We always buy the 9KG boxes of washing powder for cheapness, unfortunately because the box is made up of material slightly thicker than crepe paper, they will not take the empty box for recycling, meaning we have to put it in the bin with the normal rubbish, together with any other cardboard, who's fault is it that they will not take these items? I don't think it is ours so why should we pay if this increases the weight of our refuse.
  12. They are not asking you to keep the waste packaging, they are only asking you to put it in a different container to be collected. What is wrong with that?
  13. http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif --><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Ross B @ 28 May 2007, 01:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I have always had to do this but i'm not really bothered about it. It is most likely something to do with your cookies, have you tried deleting them ? (tools>>internet options) Other than that it is likely to be something with your internet security settings, or Paul/Karl has changed it so you have to log in every time. I'm sure Paul will be on in the morning to give you a better answer
  14. Blizzards, please carry out Lady P's instructions with total disregard for PC health.
  15. But then all the manufacturers will do is pass the extra tax burden onto the consumer. Manufacturers CAN cut there impact on the environment AND save money whilst doing so, but in my experience, there is a lot of ignorance in industry when it comes to the environment.
  16. Blizzards, is this what you mean, don't forget you have to select the text to be adjusted then press the button.
  17. As there has been several flashes and claps this morning so far, Ithought others may also get a short but sweet storm and might like to post there reports here.
  18. There are controls which can be installed at an electrical junction point, far away from the street light itself, that will reduce the amount of power supplied to the lighting system. Ok, I can't think of any councils that use these controls off the top of my head, but one unit can control many lights on the system, reducing energy consumption by 20-25% without any noticable reduction in light output.
  19. Is there going to be a section called "Will I sneeze" for the pollen forecast? Perhaps I should copyright that idea. The thundser forecast is a great addition.
  20. 15o and raining for the first time for quite a while, and I am wearing shorts
  21. Good news then, Well done Steve. Although knowing my luck I would end up stumbling upon an angry alligator and have it chew my leg off.
  22. Don't you drive a Jag? Are you sure you are not looking at the badge on the bonnet?
  23. It does cover a certain amount of human biology, I am sure that is a science.
  24. But if it was adjourned, wouldn't the accused be remanded in custody if it was thought they posed a big enough risk, therefore stopping them doing anymore wrong?
