  1. too close to call whether it will be rain/snow for you in eary hours of wednesday. another problem with your area will be fog. it is really marginal though as to what this band of PPN will drop. i think you may need to keep an eye on the dew temps and judge if they are dropping then it may be snow smile.gif

Thanks ,will keep a close eye, would be good to see some more snow now, still have a good amount on the ground though, fingers crossed.drinks.gif

  2. Away from the south coast there is a chance of more snow in the western most parts of this region. 5cms or so inland, on current estimations seems most likely

Brighton and Hove for eg is missing on the METO warning list which does indicate that rain and sleet are more likely close to the south east coast, say 5 to 10 miles or so, after perhaps some initial snow.

To be honest i will be surprised if we do get snow as i think we have had our fair share, but have noticed it is a lot colder today.drinks.gif

  3. Thanks Tomo,i am going for that Drink as am fed up and disapointed but hey am very grateful for what snow we have had and had lots of fun with the kids in it,hopefuly see you all soon and no doubt we will all be fretting about how much we might or might not get as the case may be,see you guys and thanks for the good discussions and all your patience with me as you are probably all aware by now i have no clue what i am talking about half the time, but i love the weather and reading you guys posts, night nightdrinks.gif

  4. Not wanting to depress anyone, but have had snow pretty much all day, nothing really adding to totals as there has been a thaw as well, but its snowing pretty much constantly now. I am sharing this gut feeling that I may wake up and not be able to get to work in the morning. (Probably just wishful thinking though)

Well i was already depressed but you have just added to it lol, good luck and hopefully you will be snowed in by the morning drinks.gif

  5. who knows but the met office seem to be ramping up on another event for late tues wed! hard to believe as they got the weekend snow so wrong

London & South East England: Brighton + Hove Hampshire Isle of Wight Oxfordshire Portsmouth Southampton W Berkshire W Sussex Heavy Snow Wed 13 Jan There is a moderate risk of a severe weather event affecting parts of central-southern and southwest England, West Midlands and North Wales.

A band of heavy snow will move slowly northeast during Tuesday afternoon and the first part of Wednesday before dying out. Accumulations of 2 to 5cm are expected widely, with 5 to 15cm possible locally. The strengthening southeasterly wind is also likely to lead to drifting of snow.

Issued at: 1450 Sun 10 Jan

Thanks for the info, but like you say i think i will take the proffesional weather forecasters with a pinch of salt as they really didnt know what they were talking about this weekend lol,i think i will just check with you guys from now on as you all seem to have a better idea as to what is going to happen ,well lets all keep everything crossed and hopefully we get some more tonight and if not over the next few daysdrinks.gif

  6. First thing Kent and most of Britain have got temperatures from 1 to 3C at this present time, and this was to be expected.

Second thing, Snow will hit Kent, Sussex, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk for sure but its still over the low countries at this time and still far too much going on to say what the outcome will be. At this present moment it looks liek everything is falling into place on the mdeium and long range radar systems, short range such as your free 30 minute one at BBC and UKMO will not really show the snow at this moment, it will in due course but its out of that range. The front is coming this way, it is solid and it is moving about and growing in parts.

The big unknown question is how much moisture it wil soak up in the north sea that is about 9C. If as forecast it grows quickly then "YES" we would get hit. The UKMO only have skeleton staff on Sunday's and the update will always be slow even for a warning they are holding on as they can not be 100% sure of timing now.

I hope that clears all that up. Its thawing at Whitstable, but also keeps grain snowing as well, the whole of Kent is covered with flurries, but nothing signigicant at this moment.

Thanks, there is still hope then ,lets keep our fingers and toes crossedrolleyes.gif
