  1. Dew points and 850 Upper temperatures will be too high to support snow for Friday, with the proper cold following on behind. Regarding Sunday/Monday, im not sure about it IMO, I dont know where the PPN is coming from! A very cold outlook. No sign of Atlantic mild. The signs are for a long cold spell, which I would put at 80% at the moment. I will update about Sunday/Monday when I get more info about it!

Thanks Snowman,at least i can go out in town then on Friday night and not worry about snow lol,but i hope we see some over the weekend drinks.gif

  2. Hi guys ,sorry but am very confused about what is meant to be happening or not over the next few days ,have read lots of posts today and really dont have much knowledge about models and runs ect, just wondered if anyone could explain if we are going to get snow on Friday? or has it now been put back to Sunday? I know its a lot to ask but if someone could help me understand and maybe explain in simple terms as i am a bit thick lol. Thanks guys drinks.gif

  3. smile.gif fantastic sunset would like some more of those , do miss clear blue winter days .

smile.gif best to wait nearer the time as things change, but at this point it does look very cold with possible snow near or on s coast.

Thanks, for the reply,i will keep reading all your posts to keep myself informed nearer the time lol, fingers crossed we get a good dumping but on the other hand am looking forward to a night out as the last night out was cancelled due to the snow lol.drinks.gif

  4. I like those charts!

Just wondered if someone could explain the first chart though? I understand that on the second one the pink means snow, but with the first one, what do the reds/oranges/yellows etc mean?

Sorry if I'm being thick, new to all of this!

Hi ,trust me you are not being thick, like you i understood the second chart but was not sure what the first one meant, but if i go by the second chart it looks good and could be in for more snow, but would like to go out on the town friday night loldrinks.gif

  5. It hasnt even started snowing in our area yet and some of you are already calling it another disappointing evening. Places further west, that are milder, have been getting snow. If you were expecting a dumping out of this then you have been mislead or have not followed the models/forecasts properly. The most we were ever going to get was a few cm's, and if we do get that i'll be very happy. At the end of the day there has been at least some snow on the ground for a week now. How often can you say that in London of all places?

I did call it another disappointing evening but i am only going on what people are saying, and i live right on the coast well about 2 miles in,and am now thinking that we wont see the snow tonight and it will prob fall as rain,oh well still lots more to look forward too i hope in the following weeks or so drinks.gif

  6. ohmy.gif The wheelie bin lid - why didn't I think of that pardon.gif

    Genius !!

I'll have to give it a go when the kids are at school tomorrow!! It will be their first day back since last Wednesday (if they go back)

Same here my kids go back for the first time for a week tomorrow, lets hope we can all go out on our recycling lids and have fun lolyahoo.gif

  7. If they are doing the pavements something could be happening.. where I am (off Ditchling Rd) - they don't bother with the roads or the pavements.. !!

Before the thaw started and the snow turned wet, we couldn't tell what was road and what was pavement and now the road is compact snow and ice.. only used by extreme sledgers!!

... snow dance coming up - I want more!!! drinks.gif

Well the last lot of snow we had just before xmas ,they didnt gritt the roads either, maybe they have learnt lol,but maybe something is happening i suppose we wont know till we wake up,thats if i go to sleep as i may be lamp post watching most of the night. And yes i want more too .drinks.gif

  8. Even if we're lucky enough to get a good dumping I thought I read somewhere that nightime temps tomorrow night were 8c. Does that sound right? I'm probably mistaken though, seems a bit of a jump in one night!!!

I heard that by the weekend temps could be 7 to 8 c,but not tomorrow night, but then again i could be wrong ,lol.drinks.gif

  9. I'm not sure but i'm in the Preston Park area and i've just see a gritter go past!

I don't know whether Brighton & Hove Council has had notification from the MetO or not ??

Well i am from Mile oak and they have gritted all the roads and pavements today, which is very strange as they have never done the pavements before,so maybe they do know something loldrinks.gif
