Fantastic to see. I've heard that there was a funnel a few miles to my south east towards Worksop. Trying to find out details.
Hey I'm down that way at Anston, Didn't see anything! Nothing was on the news!

Indeed it would be, it's a fantastic viewing point.
I'll never forget the storms of summer 2005, me and my friend went to watch the show, it was 4-5 hours of constant activity, thanks to a Spanish Plume, lovely fat MCS, which has nowhere near being beaten to that eventful night.
I always miss the storms with being in a dip or they die out over the pennines.

Seems more promising, but I fear that i'll be on the eastern most extent of the precipitation, but you never know.
Either way, we'll all know come 12:30 1:00am with regards to will it won't it. if it looks promising i'll be going for a drive to the humber bridge.
That should be awesome on the Humber Bridge!

From the 3 January 2011 the BBC will be gazing up to the skies searching for the stars.
Professor Brian Cox and Dara O'Brian will be on BBC Two for three nights looking through a telescope and taking a crash course of the skies.
Throughout the week they will be showing viewers what to look out for.
BBC Radio Sheffield's Rony Robinson will also be exploring the subject from 3 January.
As we prepare for an exciting month, Sheffield amateur Astronomer, James O'Neill explains what we should be looking out for in South Yorkshire…

Heavy rain thunder. No lightning yet.

Has been thundering since 9am here. No lightning tho, just rumbles. Extremely heavy rain.
-
Nothing but lightning in the distance, not a rumble to be heard to of! I'm now going to be off. This one looks deadly !

Why not use Netweather - it uses over 30 detectors from around the country for the most accuracy, free version is updated every 15 minutes:

With a paid for version in NW extra updated every 2 minutes currently:
Thanks Paul.
Will have to use the free one for now.

The clouds went awfully dark looking towards North Nottinghamshire, so i decided to grab the camera and go for a 10 sec walk to the field (that looks towards Worksop, north nottinghamshire) Glad I did, amazing skies! Which I have attached. Enjoy!
