Hi mate so are you a hairdresser or baber?
I'm a barber, got to work 4 of my staff have made it in, going to be a busy day watching the snow come down.......
-
Heavy Snow here now, schools closed so my daughters very happy, I'm going to walk to work, can't see me being there long, not really a day to get your haircut.........
-
Looking at the radar were in the leading edge of this main band, can report just a dusting here this morning
-
O my life , just got the touch out and had a look outside and It's a true blizzard , gales and big flakes with lots of little ones aswell, looks very dangerous out there, got my sledges ready. .
Hi, how bad is it down There, looking at the radar it's about to start here...."
-
On some of the other regional threads there talking about this current band lasting until the main band reaches us, what do we all think? Also we should soon be able to pick up comments on the south west forum
-
Looks like it's merging to become one big band to me
And it will intensify as it reaches the cold air
-
Play that through and see what you think guys
Reckon that's the main band just over Ireland now, not going to be able to sleep tonight
-
According to lots of people in other threads and model discussion the band just making landfall isn't the big one, that's not hit the radar yet, but you can see it on sat24.com images
Oh, well its a hell of a band the main part of that band is now covering most of Ireland & intensifying nicely
If there's more after, bring it on
-
Let's hope the main band stalls over the top of us like this band, that would be awesome
Wouldn't it just be awesome
-
It seems to have stalled now, wonder how much we will get out of it before the main band arrives, nice starter though
The main bands already starting to intensify on the radar & it's only just made landfall.........
-
mine is a 40 minute walk! will have camera though!
well its snowing here moderately and sticking!
Rather you than me,
-
The wind is starting to pick up, could be fun by morning, I will look like a snow man after my 20 min walk to work :-/
-
Mmm, well I'm well into the amber warning, it's only got to push in a bit more and I'm in the red warning, won't be able to sleep tonight will be glued to the iPad :-/)

Met office still has me forecast for snow all day fri & most of saturday, admittedly it's not snowmagedon but according to nw snow forecast its 15mm precip, = a good 10cm snow & it's well below freezing so no chance of it meting like it did Monday......
-
I grew up in Kidderminster and the deepest snow I can remember was in Jan 1982, when we had over a foot. And I lived only a few yards from school so had to go every day...
Yes I remember it, was it very cold in the December? If my memory serves me correct mid dec touched -18 in some parts, our heating oil at school froze we had 3 days off, we were rarely off you were just expected to walk....... Could we be heading the same way now??
-
10 cm is my threshold for "lots and lots of snow", since it's very rare to get double figures of cm in these parts. I could live with even 5 cm. A nice ice day today (max -0.6 °C) so it's all feeling nicely wintry. Now to kick back and wait for the sleet.
I've lived here all my life 40+ years, think we've had more than 10cm maybee 4/5 times & quite often it's gone the next day, would be amazing to see it again & for it to last a while........
-
I'm in the middle of the amber warning, fingers crossed, trying not to get too excited just yet.......
-
Brilliantly sunny day today. Some snow melt where I work down near Rowley Regis but return home to Gornal to find it looking exactly the same as I left it this morning!
Here we go again for Friday then...not getting swept along this time. At least there isn't a weekend building up to it this time so I can suitably distracted by work. The forecasts were very good for last Monday here in the end, see if they can get it right a second time running.
The nw forecast for my area was pretty much spot on, if it's still saying the same this time tommorow I will be taking more notice.......
-
Just clicked on my just updated netweather local forecast, Friday in to Saturdays all snow 20mm rain = 20cm of snow, I'm not being greedy just half would do........
-
So what's going on with raintoday.co.uk all the precip has disappeared from the last frame, which it clearly hasn't from the posts on here.....
-
Been snowing for atleast an hour in Kidderminster. Started to really pep up last 20 mins. If its snowing in Kiddy there is hope for everyone !!
Yep quite agree, we're much the same as you being 3 miles away, if we get snow were very very lucky, about time we got pasted :-)
-
The odd flake here now
-
I'm looking on radar & it seems to be intensifying
-
Firstly I'm noticing on raintoday.co.uk that yes the band coming over Wales is dispersing, however the stuff over northern England is now sliding south, it's also worth considering that the warm sector that was turning tomorrows snow to sleet has gone, let's hope it stays that way.....
