  1. YOU BET MATT! With at least 5 main groups leaving the UK in May for the Alley some of us should see something, I hear there is a Torro meeting 20th March that might be worth a look with Isabel being one of the features/talks---one of your mates?? if I can get the night off I might go
  2. Yes Tim I see that on Radar, I thought it was the same area you had but it wasn't, it developed over the lincolnshire area and moved down just west of the wash and into Norfolk, I have since heard that there was an RTA just south of my position due to the roads suddenly becoming covered in ice and snow with no salt on the roads, it was very unexpected, Im really glad I got my butt out of bed and went to have a look, My mate is building a Barn Conversion and he and his family are living in a caravan on site in my area, he said he was actually quite scared as the gust front from this Storm was quite something and the noise of the hail on his caravan----well! you can only imagine
  3. Im a bit late with this one, months and months have gone past and I have seen nothing well one distant flash! Saturday afternoon and into the evening was agood chance of something but as it approached from the NW it came as one quick flash to far off for me to hear then a load of rain and small hail--------------------later that very night!-------------------04:45 Asleep in my bed I was  whats that my wife nugged me ha ha no not that whats that flashing ???? as I opened my eyes FLASH---- i WAS IN ME CAR AND DOWN THE ROAD IN 3 MINS i COULDNT SEE A THING! it was like a blizzard of hail and snow few more big flashes and crashes found myself a nice lay by and parked up, staring through my window screen my eyes were nearly fried! brillant bright flash big BIG CG couple of hundred yards in front of me KERRRRRRRRRRRRBANNNG! OHCH MY BLEEDING EARS! it lasted for around 20mins start to finish as it moved quickly to the east and died, the info I found is that the cell grew and died very quickly over the Long Stratton area in south Norfolk---lucky me ---again  but the best thing is that is my first CG in snow

  7. Just thought I would throw this question out to the forum----- Have any of you seen a CG in a snow storm or blizard?? I have heard Thunder but not seen a CG only on a documentary and then only the once "STORM OF THE CENTURY"
  8. Sure hope we get something else, I remember seeing a Giant block of cloud a few years back straight sides up and down simular to a thermolite building block! the temp was -3c  and this thing was slow moving and lighting up from the inside at a rate of 4-5 flashes a minuet it was absoulutly huge and because I kept getting emergency call after emergency call I didnt get a single min to observe this wonder or even hear it  I would be most exited if I saw another cloud formation like that this winter.
  9. Hi Yer Steve, sometimes when I leave work form Diss after a night shift in the winter I can see the tops of towers lightning up to my east as I drive up the A140 on my way home last Night I was sitting at North Deans like a fool should have got yer number and give yer a bell, mind you I expect you had other plans at 3am

  13. Sounds great, always wanted to get into a weak funnel and be chucked around not that thats my view on chasing but one on my wish list the guys and girls at Felixstowe Ambulance Station told me of a inflatable whale which was lifted by a Tornado/waterspout off the pier and some several hundred meters up the front and dropped into someones garden! the thing was that there was a 8yoa boy inside  totally unhurt by his trip YES right the stuff tonight, will be watching like a hawk first sign of anything im off, Great Yarmouth is only 30mins from here so thats where I will be going, if it gets to first light Im hoping to catch me first waterspout! well I live in hope
  14. Sounds like there are still things to be seen with that Tornado, some say this is a good tieme of year for them and water spouts, hope so and soon be Xmas Mr C.S.F. Should keep you most happy
  15. Hi everyone, well me and my chase pal James went out to get in front of the MCS to try and catch some lightning, the Cape had gone so far north it wasnt worth the trip, so we headed west to Cambs where we caught 2 Tstorms of short duration and very high bases so another let down really, I know some of you might have got lots of lightning in the SW but for us in the East it was a short show, nothing severe and nothing to write home about! so there we have it, still waiting for those nice summer convective Tstorms! they cant keep not turning up can they?????
  16. never mind Matt, I believe yer nah really see a line on AVBRIEF of Tstorms turned me detector on and it was going stupid! I thought I had broke it but then turned on the trusty AM/MW BAND on the radio and wow  was I suprised, only one thing to do get out in it, sounds like you got some more of the photographic stuff, ours was a little featureless really, but always nice to see.
  17. The day started full of hope and exitement of the years first big Tstorm, after only 2hrs sleep from a night shift (ah!) James and I set off South down the A140 into suffolk and stopping at the A14 to watch and get data only to find out that hail and lightning had gone off over me blinking house! anyway East to Felixstowe----that was dead so West to play the CAPES and into Cambridgeshire, many hours spend there before we decided to head back EAST to Ipswich and evn considered going South to London but stopped short at Clacton to watch the rain  well folks thats it 300miles of running around with no results what so ever! and that my friends is a BUST, and that is as we all know Storm Chasing.
