Morning, one thing to note, the wind has finally calmed down a bit. Woke up to a dusting keeps snowing on and off albeit mostly the small pellet type. It’s getting lighter so I suspect we are in a gap. Looking towards this afternoon, could a warning be issued further North of the Humber as per the GEM? Thoughts anyone

After a year all snuggly and warm, I start a new Job , Tueday, 400ft up, mainly in poly tunnels. Just how many layers will I need? up on the Lincolnshire Wolds.
Plenty and wow what a time to start a new job. Should be memorable that’s for sure. Enjoy the snow and raw bitter winds lol

Think everyone just needs to be patient. It will come just sit back and watch it all evolve
Exactly and it’s not like most of us have much to do at the minute. This passes the time for me that’s for sure.

I bet these streamers position themselves just to the North or south so most of Lowland East Yorkshire misses out again. Hopefully not as 2018 was like this and we ended up with a totally cack 1cm.
No no no not this time reef. It’s going to dump 20cms or more in East Yorkshire we are not going to miss out this time

i would certainly make sure that if there is enough snow to go out and have fun in my son and i would go outside, cant beat father and son time.
They do grow up rather quick that’s for sure. Hope you get to go out and make a snowman or two

my son has just said that if we do get enough snow and they would have closed the school can he have a snowday off homeschooling, nice try son, lol.
To be fair fabulous memories are made during epic snow events. I say just do it and be a cool mum or dad they will thank you for it in the long run. Must be so lonely and difficult having all your lessons away from your friends. These kids will carry the COVID scars for a long time. How about a compromise and make up the work on another day otherwise you will be stuck inside with them and missing out in all the fun yourself.

Afternoon, popped in from the Yorkshire thread. Did storm Darcy deliver your snow? How’s it going around South London? Is the band moving slower than originally forecast?
Thanks and I hope you all get plastered something to watch during the boredom of lockdown I guess- 1

Had a gander on the SE thread. Lots of talk of snow and a few inches but they are shy with their pics.
Yes I thought that. 3 inch’s in Ipswich and blizzards in Kent but no pictures!

We’ve had few flakes in the air on and off for the last couple if hours but nothing much getting very far inland before fizzling out. Radar does look good though and showers are clearly intensifying and as @Craigers has shown above they appear to be heading for South Yorkshire!
Euro4 shows showers today with greatest intensity up until lunchtime then weakening as the afternoon progresses. The real action then starts in the early hours of Monday when the Baltic/Humber streamer sets up
Are these for tomorrow?
just realised the date in the corner. Please take no notice of my ignorance -

The radar does look more impressive than the reality.
Wasn’t expecting anything until tomorrow but I just like to know these things, it’s fascinating.
Great weather watching this winter and if it falls great and if not well it has certainly passed the lock down boredom that’s for sure

Morning
so we have had on and off grauple here all morning, not amounting to anything.
Why does the radar currently show beefy showers for all when in reality hardly anything is falling!
can the radars be wrong?- 2

Had a browse of the southeast thread to see how it's going. Looks to me to be just where it's supposed to be, not that you'd know it given some of the crying by some. Main thing is it's not further northwest than predicted so shouldnt eat our instability. Side note: Paul Sherman, it appears, is the southeast's sausage (where is sausage anyway, there's a lack of snow to be outraged by?)
I miss sausage. Don’t think he has popped in this year. We have had some great laughs with that guy so I hope he’s ok
