Looking out in the solent no real evidence that temps rising, how ever wind has shift marginally more to the south in last hour which may account for the rise just inland. Don't forget the main event is not due for 12 hour so temps should drop over night and winds will be going more to the east. So hope things come good for you. I like http://www.bramblemet.co.uk for looking at current wind and temp along solent

All this model watching is nerve racking, miss the old days when you just opened the curtain and any snow was an unexpected surprise, obviously after scraping the ice off the inside of the window to see out first. -

This time tomorrow we should all know who will get a dumping and who will be gutted. After the weekend into mid week what will happen, will GFS win with its milder outlook or will the other models win with there continued cold theme, place your bets now..... -

Long way off, but some very low minimum temps next week and this is at lunch time! Maximums are well below freezing. Very interesting model watching over next few days to see how things pan out -

Not sure what to make of the models tonight. Think I give them a break and come back Wednesday evening and see where we are. Overall no real cold has hit us yet, slight dusting of snow this morning here, but as yet no hard frost or anything like that and ground and pond is showing no sign off freezing up yet. -

Band of precipitation now moving into the bristol area, on radar looks like whatever falls will be very light. Is it supposed to intensify? if not will not get much out it. -
If it ain't going to Snow not much point it being cold. Quite happy to push 2inches of Snow off the car, scraping off frost is just depressing!!

At the moment the models are struggling to get events nailed sub 48hours, looking at the output for Thursday next week is setting yourself up for a fall...
-
The GFS 12z, yet another downgrade, milder sector turning best of the precipitation Monday to rain. Only SE parts of England looking good now for a full snow event.... Disappointing.
-
I have a nasty feeling that this up and coming cold spell, has been over hyped once again, by many in the model forums and the press. Hopefully wrong but it seems to get pushed back and downgraded the closer we get. If the forums were to be believed last Thursday we were being told that today we would be snow bound. Had a bit of sleet at times today but not sure we will get much more than that.
