It's certainly windy here, but not the worst I've known in IMBY. I think St Judes storm was worse than this, but it might not have peaked yet?
St Judes.... Its Weird That the first storm was on that day and the last storm "NOW" on St Valentines.

I guess that's the wave that hit the cruise.
possible...Crazy weather.

Those saying it has peaked because it's calmed down where they are for maybe 10/15 minutes are, sadly, not right, as it is yet to reach it's peak, and here, the winds are actually increasing again.

Its really starting to kick off, Wind guts picking up now. We are a couple of hours away from the strongest gusts, Which will last a while through the early hours. UK power network apparently claiming power outages for our region possible. Stay safe all.

Peak gusts 9pm to midnight looking at models, though could start later than 9pm looking at observations which show strongest gusts still to transfer from the SW of England (or east of the Isle of Wight).
Nick, As a senior forecaster any thoughts on "pardon the pun" whether this is it for these storms or is this quieter spell a temporary lull. Must be a forecasters nightmare at the moment.

hi tom

JP, This is one hell of a crazy weather pattern. I know predictions are for a quieter period but for how long, So unpredictable. Ironic that the predicted last Winter storm so far is going out in style..News channels are all over it.

Morning all. Nice sunny day for a BIG change, Slight frost this morning that makes a whopping "4" frost's this winter. Anyway enjoy this very brief calmer snap...Looking at output towards the end of the month there is not really any sign of a change im afraid it's very much looking like back to the norm by the end of the week...Relentless.
