  1. Out here in snowy southeast Sheffield, started off with a couple of hours of light/moderate rain - then around 1830, it's snowed ever since. Hammering it down at the moment in a strong & gusty wind. Around 2 inches at the moment. Very happy times !!
  2. This cell near Worksop is fairly productive But thankfully lacking the rain that we had yesterday.
  3. Few cracks of thunder with CG lightening, heavy rain & gusty winds for around 5mins. All quiet now though.. Edit, BIG flash overhead ( goosebumps time ) ðŸ˜
  4. 2 rumbles of thunder/1 flash of lightning, between Sheffield & Worksop. Brightened up for a short while but has gone dark again with heavy rain.
  5. Back edge of main band, now approaching western pennines. Then roughly a clearance of 60 - 90 mins before the showers get going. This is the time to get loose items fastened down.. Also, we may benefit with the fall in temps/dewpoints at best time of day ( Dusk ), and get a light covering ?
  6. Still showing showers turning wintry as the evening wears on, with a longer spell in the early hours ? Fingers crossed !!
  7. Heavy snow and all but the main roads are covered. Must laugh at the met office warning for this evening ( snow above 300-400mtrs turning back to rain ) UMmmm.
  8. Poured it down in Sheffield for around 5mins, one distant rumble heard.
  9. It's on course for around 1am, although light/moderate at the moment, the last area rapidly intensified Coventry/Leicester northwards.. Fingers are crossed for here and envious of the developments yet again further north and eastwards.
  10. The next area of rainfall around Bristol/Swindon, has veered from a northeast track to more of a northerly. After a small taster I WANT a super size ' thunder ' main course & some ' lightning ' for pudding !!
  11. Flash !! Only the once - but hey, it's a start. Pity I'm on the southern edge of it all.
  12. Torrential downpour in southeast Sheffield, running down the roads. IT JUST WON'T THUNDER/LIGHTNING...
  13. Mammatus sky currently over Sheffield city centre, wind gusts picked up noticeably in the last 15 mins. Here's hoping!!!
  14. Sun out in Sheffield again, after a damp/ murky morning. Feeling warm & humid again, if not as hot as yesterday.. Keeping an eye on developments to our southeast & praying for at least something of note ?!
  15. Misty & murky start here today, but the radar loop on meteox shows the cloud quite readily burning away on all sides.. Hoping for a sunnier day than the hour we got yesterday at around 6-30pm.
  16. Sure looks impressive. Can you guys in the east keep us all informed as it makes landfall ? Enjoy
  17. Just had a decent graupel shower in east sheffield. Lasted around 10mins & coated everything again.
  18. Moderate snow shower here. Shame its nearly 2'c so won't settle on anything really. 2 little 2 late for this weekends possibilities.
  19. A good snowfall today IF not the heaviest... Shame it will be gone in a couple of hours, but if its not gonna stay around then it might as well go down the drains - and take the country's supply of road salt with it.
  20. Yep. All gone by daybreak. Some sunshine at long last, as well.
  21. No need to open the curtains to snow watch. I can see it falling through the curtains with the streetlight behind. Amazing snowfall in this last 2hrs so far:-)
  22. Light showers approaching the south of our area, and i'm keeping an eye on an expanding area on the weather front between cambridge & peterborough. May come to nothing BUT then we weren't meant to have anything tonight ? Radar gives hope, study it with fingers crossed..
  23. Just checked the latest raintoday loop & a finger of precip has advanced North towards derby/stoke. The general low pressure track looks westerly HOWEVER breakaway areas are developing around it. Fingers/Toes crossed ?
  24. Can't believe the steady rise in temps & dewpoints around the region YET parts of the south and west are in whiteout conditions. So much for a ( biting ) northeasterly wind ?
  25. Good afternoon folks ! Well that was a good snowfall - were'nt it ? Main band cleared here after leaving 12cm on the drive. Hoping that something comes over us later this evening BUT really we must not complain..
