  1. Light snow showers in Buxton. Some cover and very icy www.buxtonweather.co.uk
  2. This pattern is a lot better than last year. Although I agree it looks unlikely that most of us will see any snow for a while yet
  3. Not a bad ECM with a chance of wintry showers throughout the run from the Peak District northwards http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm1922.gif http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm2162.gif Certainly feel cold away from London and the South East
  4. ECM has been all over the place recently at 168+ . Lets see if its still there tomorrow. I doubt the GFS will be far off
  5. Well after a very mild weekend, it will feel cold next week! Maybe some possible wintry showers in the far north for a time too. Later next week, the Azores High will bring a return to settled weather and it will feel milder again. No signs of any widespread snow in the 0-14 day range
  6. Those are really quite poor with temperatures on the way up in December rather than down!
  7. Good ECM tonight if you are looking for a dry December. Probably fairly mild too with little in the way of frost http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm2402.html
  8. Quite clearly evidenced on the GFS 9 panel charts. The northern arm of the jet stopping any UK cold spell for the next 2 weeks http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/avnpanel2.html
  9. The roaring northern arm of the jet. High pressure ain't going to go further north.
  10. High pressure will move south from that position and bring a return to milder/cloudier Atlantic weather
  11. So in summary tonights models suggest a dry start to December followed by a return to wetter and milder pattern in the 2nd week. Meanwhile, the Eastern states of America can prepare for another Polar Vortex!
  12. The models today remind of this time last year (i.e. a quiet start to December before the jet increases followed by a wet spell of weather for Northern Europe)
  13. 18z keeps it dry next week but increasingly cloudy and mild
  14. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/weather/11253760/White-Christmas-unlikely-as-Met-Office-predicts-milder-than-average-winter.html Mild winter ahead fokes
