  1. Typical of this winter - even in a westerly the east appears to be getting more snow!
  2. Pah! Left only a bit of slush in Motherwell and Hamilton.
  3. Some heavy snow showers in EK this afternoon - sudden squalls with snowflakes swirling around in the wind but not lying...yet.
  4. Campsies looking white this morning and some sleet showers in East Kibride - will be interesting to see how the day progresses.
  5. Looks like it's overnight Monday into Tuesday that has the best chance of snow, with tomorrow offering mostly cold rain and sleet away from high ground?
  6. Lighter now in East Kilbride but the last couple of hours has been much better with a decent covering of snow.
  7. It's started to lie on the roads a bit in EK in the last half hour or so, as it has been (and still is) pretty heavy and I'm guessing the temperature has dropped a bit, but I wouldn't have thought that there would be any great problems. It fell for a long time without lying at all. It's frustrating watching heavy snow failing to lie!
  8. Heavy again in EK at the moment but, as far as I can tell it's not accumulating on any surfaces that don't already have snow on them.
  9. Has got heavier in the last few minutes but not much of it sticking. A nice wintry scene out the window though with the falling snow and the thin covering from earlier in the week (East Kilbride that is, not Motherwell).
  10. Snowing at a steady rate in East Kilbride now, but looks too wet to lie.
  11. The snow gates on the A82 are a bit higher up on the hill above Tyndrum to the north. I suspect the closure would've been more to do with drifting on exposed stretches to the north across Rannoch Moor, rather than the snow in Tyndrum itself. Not much to write home about in the urban parts of Lanarkshire so far, a smattering of patchy snow cover, increasing with altitude. On the lowest ground, sleet only, which seems to be increasingly the forecast as the day progresses.
  12. 1.5 metre drift at Glenshee Ski Centre yesterday. Not too difficult to see why the A93 is closed!
  13. Would be nice to see, even if it is followed by rain, but I've seen those pinks over me so many times in the last week or two and seen so little... Anyway, it's only Tuesday. It will change.
  14. Yes, looking good on the webcams at the moment. Good to see some snowy scenes around the country generally. About 2cm in East Kilbride, which is the biggest accumulation so far in this spell! Still no more than a smattering in Motherwell.
  15. Snow a bit heavier now in East Kilbride after light on-and-off snow for much of the morning, but there is still only thin partial cover on the ground.
  16. Light snow in East Kilbride with a slight covering in places. Only a tiny smattering in Motherwell so far.
  17. Decent amount of snow in the hills above Tyndrum today, so at least somewhere in the west has snow! The second photo is in a remnant of the ancient Caledonian pine forest - a beautiful place. Light snow showers much of the day and on the drive down by Loch Lomond Hopeful but not confident of seeing snow in lowland Lanarkshire tomorrow. Looks like a nowcasting job but can easily see us missing out again!
  18. 20cm fresh at Glenshee Ski Centre, according to the operators. Will be much deeper where drifted. 0cm here. A tiny dusting on the roads first thing, but it has melted.
  19. I'm hoping it gets to me as it spins round from the south - maybe by 1am according to Meteoradar. I'm not holding my breath as the snowshield here appears utterly impregnable.
  20. What makes you say that? Met Office updated forecast on website this afternoon still reckons some showers might make the Glasgow area later this evening - not expecting much, and there might quite possibly be nothing, but seems to early to write it off.
  21. Snow gates closed on the A93 at Braemar. It doesn't look like much here but the road goes up to over 600m asl at the ski centre and it looks like they are getting some heavy snow there.
  22. Plenty of walkers, climbers, ski-ers and summer snow-patch observers would welcome Cairngorms snow (even if not necessarily from an ideal wind direction) - don't worry about that!
  23. Fronts are usually the best hope for Glasgow and the west as well. Oh well, maybe there'll be a surprise! I suppose I should be pleased because it would be easier to drive up north on Sunday if there's no snow but the childish wish to see snow has taken over!
  24. I'm rapidly heading for a TOORP moment - what does it take to get some bloody snow to this area?!
