to be honest although last winter was quite mild in parts the amount of snow we had here was impressive, id bank that for this winter as well, with maybe a more seasonal christmas
-
cloudy all day come late afternoon sun made a appearance . pleasant
-
grey drizzle and a hint of mist here hopefully pick up this afternoon
-
feels lovely today hopefully starting to get gradually warmer as the week goes on.
-
very light rain here as well does feal humid though
-
yeah i thing a bit of wet snow is possible in the heavy bursts
-
shrewbury is always unlucky with snowfall here in telford around 15cm of snow this morning but oswestry wow thats on another levelBack in Shrewsbury town centre and the difference withOswestry or just 5 mies out of town is stark. It's snowing moderately here though!
-
very impressive falls for march measured just over 15cm in priorslee this morning, alot better than i thought also severe windchill feels like the middle of jan
-
actually shouldnt mock im moving there in a few months, so will prob be in despair come next winterYes but not 2-3 inches, more like 2-3 centimetres
-

-
yeah telfords doing ok as well could have a few inches by the morningCannocks had a good amount of snow so far. Roads are really bad round here.
-
totals starting to total up now as we approach midnight
-
what shrewsbury getting snow surely notWell been really heavy last hour probs 2-3 inches outside on our patio... Great stuff...
-
Gornal seems to do very well. lived there all my life then decided to move to telford mmmMaybe where you are but we have been so lucky this winter at this end of the Midlands. 20cm by the end of the 20th Jan...8cm of which wasn't even meant for us!
And again today, we seem to have a lot of luck again. For an urban area...we really have done exceptionally well.
-
wow i know you prob have elevation but didnt expect that far south to start as snow. lift off indeed. And our temperature is plummeting in Malvern, it's 1.3oC now, snow's starting to stick to cars, still light at the mo, but definitely snow falling, not sleet. Lift off, indeed! Best of luck everyone, I hope this is a white out all round.
-
being so far west it was always goona be more marginal. a good start.Just annoying when others are reporting pure snow
-
was expecting a good few hours of rain to start with., so to see bits of sleet is surely a good sign
-
very slight wet snow here
-
it still might be dont understand the negativity think we are well placed expect as others have said 10cm to 15cm we shall seeYeah but it shouldnt have been. It should have been snow tonight through the early hours, on and off tommorrow before more after dark.
-
also pointed out approx 1foot or more over the hills
-
quick point just listened to radio shropshire met office man on there said updated warnings out soon shropshire in the heart of amber warning mmm
-
as it stands and ill whisper this we are not in a bad postion shhhI'm hoping my pessimism is wrong though im staying overly cautious, i don't think my heart can take it if I go into ramp mode now and it ends up a cold rain fest.
The NAE is really quite special, here's hoping the 00z UKMO sticks to its guns and the GFS/ECM fall in line.
-
very good forecast on bbc national 10.30 snow line birmingham north espically to the west
-
yeah very close still expecting slight southward shift though so should be okWow, this is a close one for my location...
...that's really all I can say about it at this time!

agreed, the drama of the models last year was also very impressive right from
the get go with the failed easterlies in october of cause winter is always about the possibility of cold weather but model watching through those months is pulsating.
