i think most of the midlands should see a flake or two tonight . Could be the second time this winter i see snow, which compared to some poor folk is excellent.

This winter is like pulling teeth. Thats it, feel better now.
Yeah your right its been a disapointing and depressing winter thus far. However we were due a mild and possibly snow less winter and i doubt next year will be as bad. I think the term grin and bear it springs to mind there is always next year and the year after.

18z pub run off to an atrocious start
yep some severe damage if that came off.

North westerly setting up at t216
Colder air pushing into the NW Scotland so potential for showers to turn wintry here
just look how cold that atlantic is. is that normal for this time of year?

No, quite rightly he didn't. He's my mentor and I can 100% assure you he's very much across the if/maybe's next week. But we are nowhere near going that far ahead yet in our on-air forecasts... nowhere near.
Thank you has most of us thought everything still up in the air for the next week , never mind the next few months. i just find all scenarios being played out by the models fascinating.

John hammond just saying on BBC that it looks like Mild will win out with wet and windy weather fronts moving in from the west GREAT.
do people actually read any of the thread before posting. we all know atlantic will over power the block its after thats up for much debate.
-
Just a quick question from a novice, If and when we get a period of westerlies could this still result in potential snow fall? I understand that the uppers would have to be lower than if the air was sourced from europe but is it possible or would the atlantic modify the temps to much?.

stopped here now, good while it lasted seems height is a deciding factor friend in kingswinford said it was only rain there

Indeed. Winds of that strength shouldn't cause too many problems however, then again they are cutting across land. LOADS to keep an eye on!
fs193.png Maybe even close to 60mph in gusts.
looking at that image you have posted it to does point towards wind gusts in excess of 60 mph across parts of the midlands quite noteworthy in these parts.

NAE 18Z still going for a decent hit for NW England and Yorkshire tomorrow.
Interesting!
yep and wales and parts of the midlands however short lived
