Just down the road here in Codicote it's settling. Not much, but it's more than it is in Hitchin where I've just been.

Big hugs iceni
You are all so kind. We really are a community. Your thoughts mean a lot. She is my best friend.
She always hated the stuff. Probably something to do with struggling through winter 62/63 with 4 young children and an absent husband for most of it (Dad was on a business trip to Brazil). Not helped by living out in the country on top of a steep hill. We relied on a neighbour who had a LandRover, but we survived.
Beautiful lovely Mum. But just maybe... she's pulled through before and I must stay positive.

Thanks saintAt this stage, there's not really a good app, apart from using the XC weather site for current observations.Strongest winds won't be until midnight at least I think.

I'm sure this has been asked many times (sorry!) which weather app is best for wind speeds please , it's pretty gusty here in Hertfordshire , not sure if the worst of the winds are here yet thou !

Nope I heard the same ! Heavy shower lasted all of 30 seconds lolOh dear I think I am imagining things now. Long low rumbling sounds just now, but it must of been a plane. Although planes here fly past us and do not normally rumble in the distance. TV on mute now and window wide open.. Nope still convinced my mind was playing tricks lolVery muggy feeling and oppressive here so wishing for something in the early hours here to help freshen it a bit. No hope of sleeping until something breaks and I could be in for a long night at this rate. Hope all my cousins and aunt in Notts are enjoying theirs

There is still some snow to be seen on the side of the southbound A10 between Royston and Buntingford. melting slowly but still hanging on in there, Amazing that it's been there for over 16 days of any winter, let alone 8 days into April!!!!
Any other snow still to be seen in the region?
Saw some today ! In the lanes around Sandon and wallington so not too far from Royston !

My icicles are falling off the roof ! Taking my life in my hands leaving the house lol

This weather really does affect the price of hay for my horse , a bad spring a couple of years ago pushed the price of small hay bales up to £8.50, it came back down late last year to its usual price of £4.50, god only knows how this weather will affect the price in the autumn !

Walking the dog and just started hammering down with rain ☔

Really happy to share some good news with you tonight, as you're such a friendly crowd. My son and daughter finally got confirmation today of a move to a more suitable property, on medical grounds.
Its been a tough few years for them and nice to see some light at the end of the tunnel.
The property is fully adapted to meet my sons needs and is a great relief for us all round, as our present accommodation is totally inappropriate now, as it has internal and external stairs and he has great problems with his balance.
The property is newly built on a nice developement in Chislehurst, in a much nicer area and we will have a brand new shiny Bromley postcode to boot, rather than the old London one. A bonus too, we will be more than double the elevation we have at the moment! (Only joking). Spies some possible snow days! Slightly more awkward journey to work in Croydon but the pros far outweigh the cons
So we're a really happy household in SE20, tonight!
Regards,
Tom.
Excellent news ! 😀
