Absolutely gut wrenching here. Frozen crappy bits of snow. No full cover. Showers missing here left right and center. Never known a more depressing and frustrating cold spell. I reckon game over for me here just outside Wolvo. Gutted

One line of showers to far north, the other line too far south. The black country snow shield fully working lol.
It is so frustrating and you can guarantee tomorrows snow and Fridays will turn into a non event.

Desperate to join in the action. Large parts of UK and parts of Midlands getting a pounding and all I have is pathetic few frozen bits of snow on grass and drive. Gut wrenching even watching all the hype on tv and sod all happening here. Really hope the next couple of days deliver for me.
Anyone think I have a decent chance in my location? I am just outside Wolverhampton to the South West.

It seems like everyone in the midlands has at least a respectable covering apart from us snowless Leicester folk. How much has everyone had?
No respectable covering here either. Just dusting here and there.

Missed all the best showers and now Thursday and Friday apparently looking crap. Shambles of a cold spell in my location.

Please God let tomorrows event come off. We deserve it after the last few days of total frustration.

Gut wrenching seeing so many areas of the country getting a pounding and most of us have virtually nothing. No doubt today will come to nothing and Thursdays and Fridays snow events will fall apart. Absolute load of rubbish this has been so far for most of the Midlands.

Absolute joke if we dont get decent event at the end of the week. What can go wrong has gone wrong. A complete and utter let down. Expect massive downgrades in forecasts tomorrow for the Midlands on Thursday and Friday.
-
Showers all die out before getting here now. Cant see any more decent showers reaching here tonight. Poor today.
-
Really could have down with some sort of trough forming with showers tonight. Really hope Thursday/ Friday delivers or this will have been a hugely disappointing Easterly in my area.

Personally I don't think anywhere will get more than 5cm as things stand, probably more likely 1-3cm across the midlands.
Think you will be wrong on that judging by what the ECM and GFS are showing.

Showers not dying out after 6 according to met office. Could go on until midnight.
-
Absolute rubbish here so far.

My dusting has nearly all melted! Really poor so far.

Got a dusting but this is rubbish so far. Surely we will get better than this today?

Well just watched the met office vid for Friday. What a load of cobbers. Yeah a bit of Snow possible for Staffs, by hardly the deep epic event that people were expecting.
Forecasters appear pretty clueless at present. Forecasts seem to change by the hour!
-
So we could well end up with nothing at this rate. Tomorrow looks rubbish now. Probably get a few frozen flakes on the bin.
-
All falling apart or still good for those of us in West Midlands?
-
Showers pathetic so far. Presume they will increase in intensity?
-
Surely tomorrow isnt going tits up? How can it bypass us and go to bloody Wales? I will be gutted if this ends up as another damp squib.

As I said earlier in the thread the bbc forecast earlier showed the area of snow moving over all of the Midlands on Tuesday in the early hours and still snow around in the daytime. If what they showed is correct then most of the Midlands will have a covering by Tuesday morning. The snow seemed to be moving from the North East southwards. Some of the snow even getting into parts of East Wales.
-
Area of more organised snow shown moving south tomorrow night on BBC forecast.

need a southward movement I think, this GFS run the cold is over by Sunday
GFS too progressive. I remember 2010 and GFS trying to bring in milder weather. It never arrived. Looking very good for virtually all the Midlands this coming week.

We had a good event in December but since then from my point of view this winter has been crap. I know some have seen some snow but no real lasting snow and horrible days like today. The outlook looks rubbish as well.
